Air shanty attempt
« on: September 25, 2016, 07:36:41 pm »
An attempt at an air shanty. I heard a few of the one's that were made for Muse, and I had the thought for this one over a meal. Kind of just got bored and decided to work on it. Let me know what you think!

The Captain cries ‘fore the battle’s won
We’ll have a good drink when this one’s done!
His final thoughts to his wife and son
We’ll walk the clouds and kiss the sun!

Another tally on his gun
We’ll have a good drink when this one’s done!
He spits in the eye of that raider scum
We’ll walk the clouds and kiss the sun!

Our engie's smile on their run
We’ll have a good drink when this one’s done!
And now their work is all undone
We’ll walk the clouds and kiss the sun!

We took to the skies thinking it such fun
We’ll have a good drink when this one’s done!
We’ve had ourselves quite the run
We’ve walked the clouds and kissed the sun!

Sure feels like a se...sky shanty, great lyrics, now you just need a bunch of drunk sailors to sing it =P.

Using my knowledge of software, i used your lyrics to make a melody for the shanty, here you go: https://my.scorecloud.com/song/42e504b1ce4103278353606edd479955/Kiss-the-sky-SKY-SHANTY

Gguy, allow me to give you your first salute for probably the most productive revival of a thread I have ever seen.  Also, the tune is pleasing.

Muse, get on it.

no problem, i personally love sea shanties (from the 16-18 century, so i also love "sky shanties", i was glad to do this.

I also notified folks in the music section of the discord, giving you credit where credit is due, you can download the track from the link. It's a bit hard to sing along in this version , but with the way scorecloud works, i can just open the song up and slow the pace slightly.

though if i add to my last post, shanties (unlike ballads) often end up consisting of either just singing or just instrumental bits, few times together.
