Fridays at Five (new event)
« on: June 11, 2016, 05:25:52 pm »
Fridays at Five
Time: Fridays at 1700 EDT, 2100UTC

This weekly event brings together crews that have less than optimal loadouts. It is a testament of a captain's patience and a crew's coordination.

Each week there will be a different set of loadouts and ships. Matches will be conducted as 2v2 Deathmatch.
Loadouts, lobby password, and maps will be announced on the forums each week. The password will also be announced via global. There are no signups.

The next map will be chosen via vote if it is available. If the map is not available then a new lobby will be created with a new password. The new password will be given to those in the lobby first with a global announcement shortly after the lobby is created. There will be a total of 3 matches.

Always up for players to run events but this time may conflict with Cake's Iron Fork of Friday. Otherwise, if it doesn't best of luck! It should be a fun time and some interesting matches.

It should not interfere. By the time this event starts Iron Fork should already be completed or in their final lobby / match.

I have made a slight error when looking up the time for Iron Fork Friday.

This event will overlap.

We will see if this has any effect on the outcome of both events and I will adjust the time if necessary. I know the few Iron Forks I have participated in retained nearly 100% of the lobby from the first match. Furthermore, this is a time where the game is at near peak population.

I will of course wait to announce the Friday at Five information on global until I know the Iron Fork event has a full lobby out of respect.

Having played the match as a Captain, I must say it was Very well done. Would recommend to anyone looking to get into a community. Was very helpful in learning new ships and working together. Though the Host was evil in choosing what we had to use. I could see that people were getting proggressivly better during the match from being in the same teams

Hello everyone. Thanks for joining in on the event. It was a huge success. Out of the original 16 people to join only two left during our 3 match (1 hour 15 minutes) of game time.

After the match, many people praised how much fun they had. Please review the videos if you are interested in exactly what this event has to offer. It is a great way  make friends or bolster your existing friendships. This is teambuilding at its finest. Again, I thank you for those that participated and I am glad you enjoyed yourselves.
