I love your game, you put alot of work into it!

But my idea (as the title suggests) it so let talented community members have an option to make ships/planes/clothes (altough clothes are already being made).
Another option would be to look at the devs of the game planetside. They ask for faction based content, let the community create it (and even earn money from their creations) and sell the content ingame.

Playable planes:
Fighter planes (1 person) or bombers (2 or more persons)
This could add a whole new dimension to pvp. Keep  the focus on airships (ofcourse) but planes with specific focusses like: bombers use fire bombs or fighters only use gatlings (or anty balloon or anti engine guns) to support (or escort) airships would we awesome. Especially in alliance or adventure mode.
Would also be cool in pvp but you should be able to do airship vs airship battles with no planes.

Looking at alliance mode with assault and defend i was thinking: maybe there could be a gamemode called battle. Implementing 2 factions that fight eachother (including ai). So a pvp with ai support.

 -----

Tldr;
Player created ships
Playable planes
New gamemode called battle> pvp with ai support.

That's not what GoI is about. If you want planes, just play warthunder

At least read before replying.

I quote myself: "keep the focus on airships".

Creating ships (not even speaking of planes) by players is not going to happen. Devs don't even allow possibility of player-made maps.

Player-controlled planes are not going to happen. Never. GOIO is an airship-combat game.

Adding new mode to un-finished Alliance is highly improbable too. Sorry to burst your bubble, but just no.

i'm still going to push to have them include a version of retrieve where people are on both sides fighting for a neutral balloon while each sides's airplanes and AI controlled ships from alliance push with the player controlled ships.

i heard they planned to include an attack/defend game where one side is in a fortress and the other is in airships. that would absolutely make player controlled airplanes appropriate and alos amazing

wouldn't that mean they'd need to spend time building up the pilot mechanics for planes? And it took them two years or so just to create a new mode using existing mechanics. At which point why would anyone play Guns of Icarus proper when they can play ace combat? Airplanes just aren't the coop spirit of the game.

Its essentially leading the game towards star wars battlefront and battlefield which is not a direction I can see muse taking.

As cool as the idea is, I agree with Ceresbane.

I love the idea of a defend your base thing. Been thinking about it for a while and the only person that gets screwed is captain.

Would still be awesome though.

I disagree with planes as well. They go against every mechanic of the game. Unless you mean the giant planes with multiple crew members. At which point we might as well get rid of the wings and replace them with balloons.

Also, isnt the name Maximillian Jazzhand?

He will always be Ceresbane to me, no matter what new name he wears. :)

Ceresbane is one of the first vets I played with outside of Novice, I actually learnt a lot from him.

The idea itself builds up bile in my throat that I swear is slightly acidic.

Whether or not the resulting spit will burn and blind you. The idea just like the bile on your face will be disgusting.
