Possibility for Future Record Keeping
« on: May 04, 2013, 12:53:30 am »
Hey everybody,

So, a fair amount of you know who I am (or at least have seen me around playing with Corvus). The Corvus Marauders are organizing a website, and I have the great fortune of being their webmaster.

Even though our website is not yet public, I have a plan and would like to know what some of the other organised teams feel about it. As part of my checks around, I've noticed that we don't (as a community) have a comprehensive statistics database of matches, scores, and other data outside of the COGs tournament. My proposal is that I would like to create an unofficial statistics page as part of our project. What I want to know is if other teams would be interested in contributing to this? My idea, off the bat, is just having someone from a team report a match score to me via our website so that I can put it in our system. That's it! It would track overall kills and deaths, win/loss, and overall matchup statistics. As of now, it could only track 2v2 Deathmatch (I have no way of tracking CP in addition to that, at least yet). Of course, it's all in good fun, but the sports fan in me has noticed all of the fantastic teams that have been organized, and no stats to nerd over :)

Let me know what you think, at the very least, Corvus will keep stats of our matches, but if anyone else would like to participate, I'm all ears. My primary question is if there would be any interest from the organized teams about it.

Have a wonderful night, happy version 1.2!

Actually, if you're interested in doing something similar to this for Season 2 too, it's be fairly awesome. I've been wanting to track match scores and stats since the Fjords tournament. Never had the manpower to pull it off though.

Fun fact: The group stages in Fjords were supposed to use kills as a secondary stat to determine who advanced, but several matchups weren't screenshotted... And as you probably know, incomplete stats aren't much use beyond speculation.

Catch me on Skype or Steam if you'd like to talk.
