I never was good at programing. However, I know how to use tools and am agro enough to pilot a giant robot! :)

Carn, if you think that you're angrier than a pissed off Canadian you have another thing coming.

I will pilot and use the arms for melee combat, you get to shoot our paintball cannons and bottle launchers.

To be fair, I have had very little contact with your kind. I have known them to have good manners though. And who says we don't build two bots? Mine can have axe hand and shoulder dakka!

I'm deadly serious about this.

Japan, USA, whatever. Just don't invite Finland. They have robots that kill entire forests.

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS:

Do you guys think these will get off the ground?  Make a sporting league, have military applications?

Quite possibly, could be a few decades, but lets face it. People like giant robots, its going to be a thing someday.

Walking/upright robots are unstable, tall, easy to hit targets. That makes them impractical for military use. Look at the evolution of tanks from tall machines to fat, squatting toads.

That makes logical sense. But humans aren't really logical creatures, now are we? We have a deep seated fondness, for punching, and dakka. Mechs have both. And it all depends on the mech, it doesn't have to be bipedal. It could have four legs, or be some kind of giant spider mech tank thing.

The Japanese robot has 4 wheels

And with proper balancing and such, multiple legs even, they're excellent at traversing terrain.

We could go a six-legged spider like bot. Big cannon on the thorax, pincers a huge crushing claw, and dakka of course.
