Ship-to-ship voice commands?

Ya know those voice commands that pop up when you press V?  Does anyone else think that maybe there should be some voice commands that captains can use to quickly communicate with other captains on the same team?  Not like everyone has a mic or can use it without waking up their roommates, but one captain still needs to know, like, if the other needs backup or whatever.

Or do those already exist and I simply haz teh dumb?

It would also be nice if the V commands did not randomly lock up controls and keep your from moving the ship for 3-5 seconds. This has happened occasionally ever since they were first implimented and either it's not as common as i think or no one cares. But to answer your topic, yes it would be useful, except a lot of the communication that happens between captains is the kind of stuff that cannot be simplified into just a few lines to choose from.

I think a few more basic strats could be done like that. Flank right/left, Hold back, OH HOLY SKY WHALE, SAVE ME!!!

Here are generally the things I say to the other captain:

1.) Stay Back / Don't Engage
2.) Move In / Engage Now

3.) Move around to the left
4.) Move around to the right
5.) Follow me
6.) Following you

7.) Going after ship A
8.) Going after ship B
9.) Stay away from ship A (it's crewed by rydrs)
10.) Stay away from ship B (it's crewed by cakes)

11.) Watch the mines!
12.) Watch out for our mines!

13.) Stay away, we are going down.
14.) Get over here, we can hold for a while.


So, other than 7 through 10, what I say are V commendable.

I wish just saying that helped, but sometimes, even when you tell someone how they are acting like an idiot and give WORKABLE suggestions on how they can knock that off and start behaving intelligently, they still persist in their stupidity.

When insulting ally captains I like to use the phrase "Filthy Coward" if they are not being aggressive enough and "Suicidal Imbecile" if they are being too aggressive. However I prefer to do this in my own voice rather than a canned message.

People are more receptive to a patient and educating individual than one who be-littles them for things they lack enough understanding for. It doesn't work for everyone of course but the affect is pretty substantial - plus people are more receptive to playing with you to continue getting better and incidentally enjoying the game more.

I call it as I see it.

If I see a good shot I remark that its a good shot. If I see an idiot I remark that I have seen an idiot. I'm not gonna go around lying with some shit eating grin just because I'm scared the population will go down.

Not my job to maintain the community nor should I be peer pressured to do so, simply because "its expected".
