Accelerometer - tool or UI upgrade

I've come across the idea of accelometer availible for gunners, because shooting targets while ship is moving (especially in two axis at the same time) is really difficult. Perhaps if gunner had some indicator of how ship is moving, he could aim more accurately. This could be effective enough to bee a gunner tool, but I can also see it as UI feature availible for everyone.

Actually, that sounds quite nice actually. But it'd have to be an ammo or tool I hope. Getting good at aiming yourself is half the fun.

And have rangefinder work while on the gun simply by having it in your inventory. Or perhaps only when right clicking to zoom, so zoom+distance and gun arc limits.

also yes on the range finder.. only not a range finder. throw that crap in the trash.

I want a full on scouter (as if a pair of binoculars would give info like that...)

but naw on it being used while in the gun. Teammate must act as spotter and use that range finder while you are on the gun. because mother fucking teamwork.

At the moment, I call out to my gunners how the ship is moving. I get about one more Artemis hit per clip from my gunners when I do this.


I don't know how exactly the accelerometer can be implemented, but I know it'll make a difference for the better.

not quite, it doesn't help with how much to lead the shot. I think i speak for gunners in general when i say its a bloody pain trying to use a merc at max range on a squid at full speed. Something like this would help

I don't think accurately firing mercury on a full speed squid is possible... regardless of any informations that can be provided.

The ui myself would like is an Altimeter in addition to the Accelerometer

The float is ok but an Altimeter......

So were asking for a better usefull range finder then maybe? Mmmh...
I dont have much internet to properly test the rangefinders ability to make any newbie or anyone fire a gun in a moving ship.
I tested earlier in practice... alone. Which is difficult, and it sort of made shooting targets while moving easier but cannot confirm for sure.
