Hehe, alright, I'll try and start making sense.

"But what could these weird wind-up boxes be? And we still need to explore the catacombs! Rrrrg! WHAT QUEST DO WE DOOOOO?!"

And I admit, I shot down the Squid because I was excited about the mortar.

(Good, otherwise i'll rig the Valkyrie with enough explosives and hellfire to destroy the thread :D)

(Carn) "The catacombs aren't going anywhere. Ingur think you can crack open one of those things? Maybe theres a recording in one of them."

(Ingur) "Give me a minute." starts at the box on the helm

We may or may not have discovered clockwork soul boxes.

"The gatling's gears are stripped, the Merc's sights are misaligned and cracked, and as for the cutlass... Give me one that's not too long, and light.  I much prefer my revolver to blades, as guns will almost always win out.  That said, sometimes blades are more practical, so I'd like one that's good for quick, clean kills."

(Ingur) "The other gatling is in perfect condition, so 150 gold, for the merc 200, the merc sights aren't to hard to replace." grabs a cutlass and giving it a few swing hands it to Shaded "See how that feels."

"Fine for the gatling, and the Merc... Fine, fair enough."

*Takes the cutlass and gives it a few experimental swings, turning and twisting it to feel the weight and balance.*

"I think I'd like to test this out on the obstacle course, is that fine?"

(Ingur) "Understandable, no point buying a blade you dont feel comfortable using. Oh, by the way, these boxes are somewhat interesting. Mostly an intricate set of gears, but there are some wires. I did find a recording, give me some time and I'll see if i can get it working."

(Carn) "Koali still hasn't answered my question though. WHY THE HELL DID YOU SHOOT IT DOWN?!"

"Thanks.  When I'm done I'll see if I can't help you out with the box."

*I slowly step onto the beginning of the course, settling into an odd stance.  I suddenly shoot forward, decapititating a dummy and dismembering two more.  I rush through the course, bouncing from target to target, and as I go there are naught but two or three marks on each, every one either a killing blow or a crippling strike.*

(Carn) "You think anyone besides you can speak sky whale?" looks over at shaded "Huh, short quick heavy blade, he's not bad."

The gift was sent Animal Crossing style. I had to shoot it out of the sky!

"Well, I'd hate to see what happened if we put one of those boxes on the Prometheus. Any luck with the recording, Ingur?"

(Ingur) gives a death glare for a second then gets back to work

(Carn) "Piece of advice, this is delicate work, dont rush her. I saw the guts of those things, its complicated and intricate."

(Also i never played animal crossing, it holds 0 interest for me)

(Ingur) stands up "Ok, it was in a rough format but i got a message out of it. "Hey there pink friend, i found this and saw no people and thought you'd desire it."

(Carn) "It had a translator?"

(Ingur) "I'm guessing so, i was pretty garbled, but that was the gist of it."

"I guess I'd better thank Mr. Whale, then."

*Emits a subsonic rumble.*
