dev attention on forums
« on: February 23, 2015, 04:52:28 pm »
I have noticed that their are some dev postings on the forum, but not many. Is there a specific set of key words that will catch a devs eye, prompting them to read a certain thread? Or do they read everything and only make their presence known on rare occasions? If it is the first, is it acceptable to email a link for a thread that we feel the devs should know about? Whichever it is, fine with me. I am not judging, just curious.

The devs reply to topics when they want to. It's not a group effort and they don't decide on which topics to post in with each other. They just reply like anyone would. However, if there is a particular thread or idea you want to make sure they see, feel free to email them at feedback@musegames.com

Thanks for the answer. I do not currently have any such threads in mind, I just wanted to know for future reference, and to simply satisfy my boundless curiosity.

Make every thread title..."Free Steamy Erotic Howard Pictures," and you'll get dev attention 100% of the time.

What a great Pit Thread Idea.

Compared to other Dev teams I find muse forum.activity very good!
And I know every game says to just email the feedback, but I can happily say every concern I have raised by email has been answered, bug reports, lore questions, suggestions, feedback from testing in the dev app.

If you have something you think needs dev attention definitely email it. :)
Or better yet, start a thread and wait for community feedback then email the link and an explanatory email  8)

You are better off emailing them. Like for any dev team, forum drama can be like poison.

Can confirm, dealing with real life drama has left me less time to handle forum drama than usual. Best bet is always email feedback@musegames.com. I'm not even a real dev these days though :P Just a former intern still in school.

the guys that take part in the firesides don't check suggestions, no.  I riffle through it some.  I definitely do not catch everything though, not even close, and so I'll echo what everybody's already said: if you email it in, that ensures it won't get missed.

Make every thread title..."Free Steamy Erotic Howard Pictures," and you'll get dev attention 100% of the time.

I never read the forums. :P

To summarise, the best way to reach us if you have some pressing feedback or issue is to e-mail us at feedback@musegames.com (or other addresses for particular issues e.g abuse@musegames) as that is the place it's easiest for us to check. The forums are a melting pot of a lot of things going on all at once so we don't necessarily get exposed to everything that's going on. While we do read our own forums, we're only human and reading every post while trying to do the rest of our jobs would likely prove impractical (though you'd probably make us laugh a lot which'd be nice).
Hope that makes sense :D
