17 Centuries of Hell
The full documentation of the war of the Positives and Negatives. Sources are completely out of actual journals recorded in the War, throughout all time periods.

CHAPTER 9 OF 48

The Battle of Bodies, age 1003 to age 1005.

The Battle of Bodies was the bloodiest conflict in the war. It raged for a total of 1 year and nine months, and almost nine million people died in it.

The Battle of Bodies got it's name from how after a couple months in the conflict, most of the ground was completely covered in corpses. By about nine months there was an average of 5 stacked corpses everywhere. These were Positive Corpses, Slave Corpses, Negative Corpses, and even some Peasant Corpses.

The main reason for the Battle of Bodies was because Fortress threah, a heavily defended Positive Castle strategically placed on a hill that gave a good view of everything around.

When The Negatives discovered the Fortress in their land, the Negative King sent out three million heavily armoured ground soldiers, accompanied with a total of 3,000 Siege Vehicles. This included 1,000 Light Catapults (which only needed to be manned by a single person), 500 Siege towers, 800 Rams, and 700 mortar cannons.
Once these forces arrived at the castle (which was only manned by 800,000 soldiers) they fought for 2 months without stop. Eventually the Negatives blasted a hole in a part of their wall, and lost 18,900 men charging it. Despite their sacrifices a large force of 8,000 soldiers made it in. The rest of the army retreated out of the castle's range and hurled mortars at vital buildings (Armoury, barracks, Archer towers).

The 8,000 intruders lasted for 97 days inside the castle before sending up a flare that signified they needed backup. After another 18,000 got in, the Negatives pushed out the Positives. Only a week later the Positives sent out a force just as bog as the Negative's invading one, and they Positives recaptured the castle quite similarly like how the Negatives did. This resulted in a constant Tug 'o' War of forcing eachother out of the fortress. Near the end of the conflict the battleground had gotten so destroyed the castle was just a few moldy, falling apart walls, Archer towers that were so weak they swayed in the wind, and a bunch of badly maintained barracks and mess halls.
Even the hill the Fortress was built on had been mostly destroyed. Any parts that hadn't been destroyed were completely covered in corpses.

The battle was never declared "won" by any side, and never fought on ever again. Both armies had suffered so much moral and economical blows during the Battle of The Bodies, that there was no fighting for almost a year as both sides struggled to recover.

King Negative the 14th's advisor actually suggested rebuilding the Fortress a few months after the Battle of the Bodies ended, but fear of even the name had become so strong in the army, that builders and their escorts refused to travel there.

To this day, Fortress Threah's remains are still feared. A big factor has been people reporting seeing humans walking in the skeleton fields, despite no-one traveling there.

Ok, maybe we should just stick to positive? I'm the one who derailed the thread, so I'm sorry about that...
