Ship names
« on: August 21, 2014, 06:08:01 pm »
Some ship layouts have names-

Gat/mortar Pyramidion- Metamidion
Carronade/Artemis Pyramidion - Carrot
Heavy Carronade Goldfish - Blenderfish
Mine Junker - Munker (or is munker meta-junker i forget)

Others don't. (I probably Missed some.)

We should name some other ones too.
But cool names.
So people actually use them.

Here at Cake Studios(tm) we call Hades/Flamer Pyramidion- Inferno/Inferno Build Pyramidion.

So my question for you GOI Forums, what should we name some other ship builds?
Thoughts?

All Flamer should be a called a cake ship - just sayin e.g. Hey! look at that Cake Junker

Carrot is a new one for me.  Cute!

Munker is definitely mine junker.

I've also heard "minebula" to describe a mine mobula.

I jokingly called a double-flame pyramid 'the fire demon himself,' but it's not really a name for a build

Never heard catfish.  Where does that come from?  It's not a contraction...

the fire demon himself
Fire Demon Pyramidion

Catfish - hwacha goldfish

Catfish is super cute.

Hwatcha has lions on it. And it's on a goldfish. Therefore Catfish.

Also I'm totally gonna call all the ships in here by these names forever and ever.

The hwachas name is Manticore, a type of big cat. Also the gun model is decorated with big cat jaws that open with the firing animation.  Hence Catfish.

Harpoon & Gatling Pyramidion = Fisherman
Carronade & Flamethrower Pyramidion = Carroflamer
Hades & Banshee Pyramidion = NeoPyra

I think I could also fit in here:
Glowbula = GwTh mobula. The mostly known one is Aesir piloted by Skrimskraw

Catfish is super cute.

Yes it is.

And from the depths of Paritan Comes a new threat. A Catfish. With Broadside Catfish. Watch out.

Interesting stuff. I especially like the fisherman. What's on a Glowbula? Or is that just a general term for any GwTh Mobula?

Munkers = Any Junker with 2+ Minelaunchers.

Why not just 1 mine? Because while 1 mine is good enough to keep an enemy at bay, the boat will most likely use it's side guns more. How you fly the vessel changes very little. The mine launcher is only there for defensive purposes. When you add a 2nd mine launcher, you add the ability to easily fend off multiple vessels as well as use mines more effectively in an offensive manner instead of just defense. While you may have a kill side or disable side, your piloting style changes as you can approach engagements differently. When your piloting style shifts, thats called Munker.

I think every one. However it's not official. It's just my thoughts.

I love 2 mines on a Junker. I have both mines on bottom deck, side guns being a carronade and a gattling. And an artemis upfront. Super fun build. Gives gunners some work for a change ahaha. ;)

Unlike real strippers, stripper ships don't have thongs.
And unlike real life GOI doesnt have money.
To tip instead you shold tuck commendations into their hull.

I think every one. However it's not official. It's just my thoughts.

I'll be sure to call them that should I see one :D
