You'll be able to sit on your couch with a hand in your pants easier using VR than using M$'s Kinect crap. Really I just love that we got VR coming back and actually kicking ass.
M$ bet the farm on Kinect but the tech was never anything other than a gimmick and a niche product. Nintendo did motion stuff with Wii and it was a hit but you can't convince controller players that jumping up and down in front of their TV is better than relaxing and ripping people a new one. It worked for Nintendo because, kids. Kids are active, they love gimmicks. But when kids grow up they don't want that anymore. Hence WiiU's failure. Nintendo rode crappy tech too long and now kids moved on.
M$ and Sony...both dabbled in it last gen, and both did exactly what I thought would happen. Became total gimmicks that no major developer cared to support aside from a few so-so games. M$ didn't get the picture that it wasn't a good idea to keep throwing money at it...Sony did. But then again, Sony did eye toy stuff with PS2. They already knew motion camera controls were gimmicky and wouldn't last in the long run.
So, heres to VR! Hopefully they'll get it right and not make people sick in the process.
