Umber Root

Umber Root - A special cheer developed for Sir Francis Umber, Team Captain for the Fernfield sky polo team. Captain Umber was widely disliked amongst the Sky Polo establishment for his unorthodox maneuvers and tendency to cause unnecessary collateral damage. However a rebellious youth element latched on to his bombastic personality to ensure he was popular enough to never be fully expelled from the game. To show support for Captain Umber, his fans would make a low pitched hooting sound that could be detected among more traditional applause. This hooting became known in the Sky Polo Community as the Umber Root.

Astrotanking

Astrotanking was a failed series of attempts to fly higher and higher. It became known as thus, because the ships designed for it, were being built with a metallic tank on the deck. Designed to protect the crew, it ended up making the ships to heavy to fly more than 10 feet off the ground.

Anvalan electric-flange

First developed in Anvala,  electric-flanges is an effective but dangerous method of combining flanges. Using an enormous amount of energy, using this method cause several explosions and accumulated a high death count. But when successful, this binding is extremely strong and can handle extreme battle stresses. The risks greatly outweighs the rewards and the Council promptly cancel any further endeavor.

The Signal Eye of Lookout (Lookout, as in the town near the Eastern Ridge)

A huge, and by huge we mean pre-war cannon huge, flare gun mounted in the very center of the town of Lookout.  Though theoretically operational, it's strange, bat-silhouette shaped ammunition, being as large and as oddly shaped as it is, is very rare.

The Hand of God

A trinket of the legendary rogue captain Jey Suss, the Hand of God was said to be able to confer a ship with enough turning power to make even possible for a Galleon to out maneuver a Squid.
After the tragic departure that saw Jey Suss leaving behind his whole crew to ascend to the skies one last time with his ship, the famed trinket was never seen again.
Another famed trinket known commonly as "Phoenix Claw" is thought to be an experiment to reproduct the Hand of God.

The Fold

A legendary piloting maneuver, The Fold is supposedly done with a Squid, and catching a certain type of tailwind.  The result is traveling thousands of kilometers in a single night. Sadly, no pilot in living memory has been able to accomplish this feat.

The Magnanimous Air Symphony

Once a Captain, hearing the combined sound of all his clan's airships firing at once, mixed with the crushing of enemy ships in mine fields and this caos' echoes in the infamous Canyon,
-the one that runs between Anglea and Yesha-
started behaving like a madman, claiming that he has heard the song of the wind and the sky, a song that had in it all the sounds of the world, later bards and other captains would call such an event in a more poetical way: "The Magnanimous Air Symphony".

The Pongar Theory

"The Pongar Theory" is the name that the scientific community of Chaladon decided to assign to the experiments of the mad drunk scientist Alphonsus Pongar, who, after the first war-ready designs of the Mobula were released, theorized that with a special propellant, he could ascend to altitudes so high that he could see the whole world from above.
Even if he failed many times, he finally Magee to create a special thingie to make his modified Mobula go far higher than any ship.
 For the fact that nobody ever saw him again after his take off, the scientists of the time decided to value as real the Theory.

The Anglean and the Sky whale is a popular song among angle an fisherman, it sings about a captain who engages a fight with a great sky whale, fighting it for a whole day, and winning in the end.
It is thought that it was born to mock the story of a drunken man that alarmed every village on the coast for claiming to have seen a flying whale.
Others presume that it is an actual real event, only mistaken for fiction for the fact that usually this kind of stories are sang and told by drunk angleans.
