Harpoon terrain hooking
« on: October 01, 2013, 10:49:56 am »
Does anyone else think that harpoons should stick into the terrain like they do with ships? I mean, there's no reason why they shouldn't, I don't think. And, although undoubtedly extremely difficult, I can imagine using it to pull off some awesome flight manoeuvres in Canyon Ambush or Paritan Rumble.

I think this was suggested before in another thread.  If it gives the harpoon gun a purpose in life, I'm all for it.

YES! This game needs a grappling hook mechanic.

Yeah, but allready it feels like a rubber rope rather than an actual hook. Ide go for it if the hook has a better feel to it.

Muse'd also need to increase the pull strength of the rope, cause at the moment it just feels like a rope.

With as much as newbies like to immediately hop on the gun and fire randomly into the air...I think this would add some bad trolling side effects. I do like the base idea. I'd just be hard pressed to replace a regular gun with it to gain the advantage which would require coordination with a crew to utilize.
