Unlocking Costumes?

So i'm a fairly new player, and i'm looking to spruce up my character. I do have the money to buy costumes and such, but i'm wondering I can take the money-less option and unlock costumes as you progress as you can with hair styles and the like. Anyone know?

There are some costumes available from levelling up, including exclusive "elite" ones at level 15. That isn't the only way to get free costumes, though. The devs give them out in "Fight the Devs" battles, and you can also get them from certain tournaments, or on special occasions (e.g. After the huge server mess a couple months back, and on Halloween last year).

you also unlock a costume once you reach level 8

yep, at level 8 engineer you unlock the conductor ( which made me lol since I already had it after muse gave it away for free )
I don't know what costumes get unlocked at level 8 for the other classes though.

I got a hair style for unlocking a badge. Does this hold true for all badges?

No, badges unlock at each level, cosmetic items I believe unlock at pair levels, elite costume parts at 5 10 and 15

i wasnt laughing, i paid for that bloody thing just to find out 1 level later it could of been free

I bought me a whole lot of equipment that got unlocked later. But for the price of a hot dog I think it's more then fine. Bon appetit Muse!

Definitely. For a game that won't have a subscription fee, a couple of extra dollars* is worth it.

*Or whatever freaky heathen money you use.
