I thought "balls to the wall" was based on aircraft throttle levers capped with spheres which, when pushed to full throttle, can touch the wall of the instrument panel.

Quite close. Archduke John of Austria never got important with the monarchy because he married a postman's daughter, but he was very important for setting the ground for Styrias "technological" future. Kind of THE identification figure for Styrians, so I use it for baiting other Austrians to get in touch :P

My first guess was the guy from the second Ghostbusters. I never liked history in school.

It was baaaack in time when I played lots of MMORPGs and struggled with lot of mistrust from other players

"Don't pretend you are actual girl, you're just guy who plays female character!"
"Shut down that little kid voice in RK"
"OMFG our healer sounds like 11 years old"
"Oh you are gamer girl? You must be REALLY ugly then"

So since those time I got used to put my real pictures as profile avatar and actually got used to it. So it has become a nice tradition =)

well, you atleast get a semi-decent fanbase with creepers.

"I'm gunna destroy you" "pests" are led to believe creepers are the stereotype and and try to stray off mainstream just for the sake of it, while building hostility in the proccess.

Can we all just relax and sit down a moment and maybe, you know, pretend you're not talking to a girl, but rather a human being?

And I know Tanya's human, she's a friend of mine. :)

When I was a young duck I luckily came across the greatest duck ship name. The Admiral Quackbar. Later I decided to make a forum post but realized I had no profile picture. I googled Admiral Ackbar Duck and first freaking picture is what I have now.

Hey I actually prefer to be a girl rather than a human creature. *

*Feminism in Russia is more like fighting for female rights rather than equal ones. Communism and socialism made us equal and almost sexless, so generally "feminism" here is actually fighting to fulfill a natural desire of woman to be sexual object rather than washin-workin-fixin-nursin machine.

I wasn't getting at labor, but fair point.

I am learning more about contemporary Russia culture from interacting with the GOI community than from any other source.

Not so much an object, though, I don't think.

I stand to be corrected, of course, and I get your meaning, but I don't quite agree with the wording.

MORE ON TOPIC

I like Bioshock, I love the big daddies, the picture is cool.  Been meaning to change it to a kind of shadowy, throned figure though.

Indeed, but pardon me if I don't personally assist you, as it isn't befitting of a Kirby.
