SPOILER tags for the Forums
« on: June 15, 2013, 12:10:23 pm »
I'd like to suggest SPOILER tags (content is hidden unless SPOILER button is clicked) to prevent obnoxious quote pyramids and image quotes from needlessly cluttering the forum.

I know that you all didn't build your forums from scratch, and as far as I can tell this functionality isn't implemented/doesn't exist in the current build.

As far as I can tell, it isn't officially supported by Simple Machines. It'd require a mod for that.

But I agree, spoiler tags would be great.

How do muse/ca mods feel about adding smf extensions? I still want my collapsible images and quotes. Link http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2940 Should be compatible with current SMF version, it's very simple and free/open source.

Also, I'd like to add voting buttons to posts. If muse was willing to implement I would buy this extension for them http://www.smfpacks.com/likes

Improving the forum? Good luck with that. It seems the forum is a long way down on Muse's list...

well you got it wrong there.
because muse is a small group of developpers, they added Community Ambassadors to keep peace and order on the forums.
Muse does care about the forums and is activly working on alot of things.

For the Spoiler idea, yeah just great thing.
but where do you need it for?

I wouldn't say they don't care. They show up and post so they obviously read the forums which is more than you can say for a lot of devs. But yeah it is better if they can rely on Mods/etc to handle it for them. Dedicate more time to working and less to keeping us from running around nekkid with microwave sushi.

Kinda feel bad at times cause I've been a little hard on them. They have given responses. Had this been BF3 and DICE had say, made my P90 shoot BBs or carrying a sniper rifle made my character hold a sign that said "plz kill me," I never would have gotten any reply. Just compartmentalized, ignored, and scoffed at knowing they got my money already and they didn't need to do anything else.
