viewing loadouts in crew formation

I noticed while in crew formation that you can't view players' loadouts the way you can in a lobby.  Since part of the purpose of crew formation is to get your crew setup, this seems like an oversight.  Can we get the little person icon in crew formation too for setting up our crews?

Why would you lock yourself into a crew setup before seeing the enemy ships?

It doesn't make too much sense to me.

I mean I get the preparation aspect of it, but it seems like overthinking the tool, which is just a way to get your friends together to join a game together.

Its not consistent with the UI, and therefore should be there regardless of its utility. Also some teams like to fly certain builds and stick to them in spite of the enemy ship choices.

Well, I was flying with some friends the other day who are extremely new players, so we got together in crew formation and had the ship set up to be simple for them to learn on, not necessarily to counter enemy builds, and we wanted to use crew formation time to discuss loadouts rather than trying to do so in a lobby that may be filled with chatter, or could start in 30 seconds, or that we might be holding up while we walk them through the process.  It was fairly annoying to not be able to check if they had adjusted their gear appropriately the way you can in a lobby.

You'd probably have to get them into a Practice match with you for that.

-shrug- really I don't think it's going to be useful in most circumstances, but it also wouldn't hurt anything to have as an option.
