No more dyes!
« on: August 01, 2014, 04:49:36 pm »
Hi there. Ocasionally I'd like to change the colour of my outfit, but I'm limited with number of dyes I (don't) have. I think that instead of one-time dyes we should just get unlimited acces to one colour. I think it would be more fun this way (for instance all community could wear pink on valentines day or sth like that) and it's easy to make. To ballance the profits from current dye sells Devs could just rise the prices (which is understandable when buying a dye gives us unlimited access). So, who's with me?

It would be helpful if when you unlocked dye, you had access to all colors.  I've unlocked dyes I'll probably never use and then I have to buy the colors I actually want.

Dyes in general does seem a bit strange that you have to buy a one time use kinda thing. Then again, aesthetics have no affect whatsoever on gameplay so they can do whatever they want with accessorizing. Sorry fashionistas!

Perhaps there could be two types of dyes. Cheap, single-use dyes, and more costly unlimited dyes. Maybe a buy-back for unwanted prize dyes.

I think this is a good idea. Perhaps 1 unlimited dye every 3 levels, so you still won't be able to collect all the dyes without paying.

TBH though dyes are...like 20 cents or something. Though like many people, I dislike the idea of consumables. I'd totally be down for a $2 perma dye or something.

I would love to be able to exchange one dye for another of equal value... I need more spring green... I'm out.

That's excactly what I was talking about. Make the dye cost 2$ but be permanent, although personally I think price should vary between 1$ and 2$ (just as now the cheapest ones are 20 cents but more interesting are more like 40 or so).

If you want to keep the usable dyes (which for me is questionable) then it's good idea to squeeze those permadyes to be the prize for the levels that currently have no prizes.

Well, how about taking this idea a bit further - how about being able to "return" every item to the store for 20-50% of it's worth to use in the store? Of course the idea of returning an item for one of the same (or less) value is really cool but I don't think Muse would agree to do it.

Howard said "Sure, why not (...), I never actually thought about it". If we keep asking for it we may get it ;)
