Sounds like a modified Domination game mode, but that's not a bad thing. We lack a lot of variety in the "capture/defend" game modes, with KotH and CK being the only real types to it.
Perhaps you could port over those refineries from Alliance? Have the points be a static defender, opening fire on non-allied ships after they are captured. This would encourage defending them, and make it a little bit easier to do so. Make the point cap something like 1000, with each point giving out 5 points per second. Once captured, they're Friend/foe test would change.
The boosted resource point would give out something like 25 per second, making controlling it very valuable, but temporary. Maybe teo minutes of having the boosted point? Short enough to encourage haste, but long enough to be worth fighting over. Encourage mobile plays, but also encourage more control over the map.
Say Blue holds A, B, D, and E. 20 per second. Red only holds the Boosted point. 25. So they're winning, but slower.
