The World?
« on: March 26, 2013, 01:40:08 pm »
Where geographically is this world in? Like what used to be America, Europe? I mean the map doesn't look like anywhere I've seen, so I guess the war was so bad it sped up global warming or something like that, or the rutabaga theory.

It's sort of an alternate universe or something. It would be cool to see the world pre-war.

GOI is set as if WWI never ended, and brought the whole world into ruin... but I am liking the rutabaga theory more and more now :P

it still doesn't explain how the geography changed. Was there like a super massive arms race that led to the creation of more and more devastating weapons?

An alternate geography is presumably to discourage stereotyping on nationalistic grounds.. that's left for the art department to reintroduce :D

It won't take place in any real-world location. I mean, we have glaciers a few kilometres away from deserts.

In the old forum some Muse people mentioned global warming taken to the next level. I still prefer an alternate earth either with less gravity or a super dense atmosphere.

Hey, I'll have you know that North Dakota is consistently ranked one out of the top two Dakotas.

well if a super war and arms race occurred that would correlate with vastly increased greenhouse gas emissions due to production methods and power sources of the time. and as such an earth atmosphere that has gone through that will be much denser than our atmosphere we know today.

Yeah, I've always wondered this, the layout of the world is pretty much impossible, I kinda wish you could tell what had once been which country.
