Hi everybody, just a suggestion for the game:
Something I would really like is the introduction of small armor "patches" that can absorb a certain amount of damage before disappearing and having to be rebuilt.
These could open up a lot of interesting tactics without requiring massive balance changes and would give something else to repair\buff\rebuild.
You can immagine some scenarios:
1. turning to show the enemy your armored side when your own weapons are destroyed (or on reload) and the enemy gunners tryng to avoid firing on the extra armor.
2. In a dire situation the captain ordering one of the engineers to rebuild some of the armor patches that could absorb some of the enemy's next volley.
Just as an example I have identified some possible locations on some ships that I fly the most:
On the pyramidion:
-The pointy bow could have a health bar of its own and would be something to absorb (some of) the damage that would come from the first ram, (much like a lance in a cavalry charge) . After being destroyed it would have to be repaired from the upper deck
-The armor on the sides of the helm
On the Goldfish:
-The lateral armor (maybe have a lot of single pieces with low health )
On the Spire:
-The big metal shield below the main weapon
Of course the other ships could have some of these too, I'm just not sure where they should be positioned
In any case I would like to know what you think about it.
