No functional reason, just visual: the engine blades were very close to the railings.

Anyone know what the reason for the goldfish engine positioning change is?

Aesthetically I think it looks better this way. Curious if there was a functional reason as well.

I don't think I've heard about that issue. Can you send us a mail about it?

The current new map seems a bit too big for 2v2. There's plenty of area to sneak around and lots of clouds so I don't think it needs to be so large and/or cloudy.

Also can we fix the two invisible impact points around the middle of duel at dawn. It's entertaining to watch unsuspecting pilots but they've been there too long.

I prefer the current captain tool icon at the top rather than the bottom.

Is the spotting system working right? I never see the eye thing open on me anymore. Thought it was just people weren't spotting me but then I notice how often I get targeted and shot through clouds.

I've noticed the same thing, at first I thought it was just them trying for non spot achievements (which annoyed me as I need to shake spots on the junker, my least favorite ship, before I can never use it again) But then I got a shaken spot so....

Yeah there is something going on with that icon, fix is coming soon.

While the UI is not an offense to my eyes, I do miss the team indicator. Sometimes I forget if I am on red or blue, especially if I spent my time in lobby socializing.

There are two ship icons right under the compass, and there should be an arrow above one of those indicating your team color.
The arrow doesn't work

Also, those ships are bloody huge and undo any element of immersion I had achieved prior

You mean you don't have that arrow?
I mean it stays on the same colour, even if you move to a different team during lobby shuffle

Sorry, should have clarified

Thanks, I managed to reproduce it. Forwarded the issue to the programmers.

What sound system are you using?

These engine sounds man, they are so loud when moving forward. I want to decrease in-game volume, but then I won't hear guns shooting at all...

Maybe move the 'Leave Lobby' button to the bottom center of the screen?

Please?

This man speaks words of wisdom.

Agreed.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Integrating E-Sports
« on: September 23, 2013, 08:05:41 pm »
Currently we have a downtime in our competitive scene. I'd like to raise certain points about how we could promote it on Muse's end. I think a majority of in-game players are not aware that there are competitive matches to watch. It would be great to see a comeback of the steam pop-ups of Cogs events starting, just like you currently do with the fireside chat. Furthermore, I would love to see some kind of integrated in-game UI, such as a streaming news, that lists upcoming events and links. Maybe even a little box with live video. I know keeping the in-game UI free from being cluttered and busy is a delicate business so I understand this may not be possible. However trying to integrate the vast community in our e-sport would keep them interested in the game much longer. Look what it did for LoL and SC2.

So basically you're suggesteing something like an ingame Twitter feed? I agree then.

Wouldn't this take away from the pilot-gunner communication that is currently required to roughly achieve the same result?

Making the gun stay in place if you leave it would be a better alternative in my eyes. The other issue is just new players being new.
Yeah, roughly the same result, if the pilot is communicating but still, he might not know the exact angle.
And yeah, new players being new OR the AI is being AI. :)

Feedback and Suggestions / "Free"look while being mounted on guns
« on: September 10, 2013, 10:30:26 am »
I've been thinking about a new feature which would allow players to turn their heads while being mounted on guns. It would work like that when the assigned key is pressed the player would have some kind of a freelook with the mouse ~90° horizontally and ~60° vertically (or whatever is realistic in the given situation). Releasing the assigned key would reset the view to center.
My reasons to include that feature is to give the gunhandler an option to gather some informations about what's going on around him (especially about incoming targets) without the need of leaving the gun because that might cause:
  • the gun getting centered, so you'll need to aim again
  • an other crew member jumping on the gun forcing a reload or wasting the entire clip on an other target out of effective range
