"Oh NAOHHHHH!!! Shoot them, Shoot them!! Hit 'em!! Ohh Lawd, OUR BALLOON!! WE'RE SINKING! OH NAOOOHHHH!!!"

-Salous using his "crazy voice"

Trust me, if you haven't been on a squid with me flying and Salous engi-ing, you haven't played Guns.

I actually talked to the Devs during this past fireside chat, I emailed them and they should be getting back to me soon with the high res original image files of all the competitive maps of GoIO, and hopefully the one you're looking for. Once I get them, I'm gonna put them up on the wiki and other places so everyone can see them, and I'll link them to ya here on this post.

Really? Right before the GoIO Birthday?

I see how it is.

I look forward to the fireworks on anniversary. :)

I hope there will be cake.

I sincerely hope so!

I definitely vote that the air ships should have horns. They shouldn't have any bonuses or purpose, I just totally want to honk at other pilots (however it would quickly become spam-fodder for lower level players... hmm)

tl;dr: its not my fault if people are leaving and roflstomping randoms gives newbies a great first-impression that would never drive anyone away for good

That is NOT the way conversations will be conducted on this forum. Chiding remarks and personal attacks are low class and not the discussions that should be taking place. Unless anyone has any specific comments about the original topic at hand, everyone please drop it.

I respect and support Muse's decision to not segregate the players, but there are other ways of doing it.

If you want to take the time to program a match selection yourself, I'm sure Muse would love to see your work. However I don't think there's a magic fix to this problem. We've recognized the issue, we've acknowledged it from all sides, but let's not beat a dead horse here. Everyone has said their main points, we're now talking in circles. Let's all be more aware of the problem, but put this thread to bed. Thanks for everyone's contributions.

Yeah in the Dev's fireside chat, they definitely didn't like the idea of putting a level cap on a match when setting it up. They really want to distinguish between skill level and community level. Skill level is measurable, but they said specifically they don't like the idea of discriminating based on skill level. They would be much more up to distinguishing based on your level of cooperation, as in how well you coordinate with others, if you are a team player, ect. The problem is, there's no way to quantify this value.

I suggested making the level caps be above 100 matches played only, still not a perfect solution, but way better than drawing a line at a person's level, and definitely way easier and more feasible than creating an advanced algorithm to measure a players skill and put people together against equally matched players. Regardless, the Devs said they didn't really like the idea of segregating, so most likely nothing is gonna come of this any time soon. The only solution is to just be aware of other people's game experience and try not to ruin other people's fun.

I think the whole problem with a freeze damage gun is that it just seems a bit too far outside of the "realistic fiction" of the game. Awkm posted about this kinda thing, where he didn't want the game to be realistic, of course, but he wanted it to seem believable. A freeze ray if you will would seem a bit out of place in my mind...

Now, a chem spray gun like Geno suggested... that's not too far fiction, I kinda like that idea!

I feel your pain and would love to co-captain with ya to make sure to give your friends a good experience. I would actually recommend not going into the beginner's matches, because you want to look for a co-captain who is able to work with you. You get a lot of level 1 newbies who aren't really that interested in teamwork in the Novice matches. If you find yourself a good co-captain, and you coordinate with him/her, you're in for a good match, whether you win or lose! Just be sure to talk to them (C to captain's chat), I'll take a level 3 co-captain with a mic over a level 15 silent one any day! I'd also echo the recommendations of the pyra, I love me some pyra action!
Good luck, and Blue Skies...

Me:"Is it okay if...ummm... someone 'accidentially' summons RethBurn by singing 'What Is Love?' and 'Never gonna let you go'?"
Everyone: "...no..."
Me: "Damnit."

-Me when faced by COx

Ahh yes, I remember said incident... The answer is still "No."

2 years as a cadet at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado. I was "active duty," but in reality I just went to a college that dictated pretty much your entire life. I was on my way to being an officer but was also let go for medical reasons.

Obviously I wasn't really a military member, but I lived the life of one and I salute all those who have served. I would love to see about returning to the Air Force, but first I'm focusing on finishing my damn degree! Blue skies...

Any official word on if MUSE is even gonna be there? And how quick do PAX tickets sell out? I'm strongly considering taking a road trip to visit NoWuffo...

I've got a bachelor pad waiting to accommodate! I'm pissed though, the 3day passes sold out while I was at work. Alas, the qualms of trying to make munnies.

So I've known about this, but I had a "Oh my gosh did you see that" moment a few weeks ago... Someone got in front of my helm on a pyra and brought out their spyglass, and then zoomed in. If you look at the end of the spyglass, there are actually 3 lenses, and if you zoom in, you can see the 3 lenses rotate! Such a simple addition but it was enough for me to be floored!

Careful, there's already a Wolves clan in the game... Just always denote yourselves as the Wicked Wolfz or the WW and you'll be fine.
