Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Pilot Stamina (Pilot OP, plz nerf)

They weren't trying to fundamentally change the game Max, just add a new component to it. Basically the scale is now 1-11 instead of 1-10.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Engineer Stamina (.... meh)
« on: May 03, 2015, 01:14:23 pm »
It is great on a galleon as our flak gunner can now safely buff upstairs and still make it down quickly for combat. Engineer stamina was never intended to be great anyway.

I feel your struggle with the too many buttons as a pilot. I am trying some key bindings to work around it. Right click kinda works but is weird. However I like it. Its short enough and charges slow enough that it works well in emergency situations without totally re balancing the game.

When matchmaking throws your clan into a lobby populated by one person.

Gameplay / Re: How does the Hull Component work?
« on: April 23, 2015, 03:05:10 pm »
Bear with me for a second.

Guns of Icarus is actually a sci fi, futuristic, space fighting game and we're in the middle of what is basically a really long easter egg sort of joke. Most things in the game were transferred well over into steam/diesel punkiness. However a big part of the gameplay mechanic was shields which you obviously can't have in the era. So they changed the name from shields to armor and kept everything the same.

Think about it, what is the best way to destroy the "armor" in this game? The machine gun. Any scenario where shields are involved its always the many weak shots that are effective against shields. Generally those are ineffective against armor.

Think about it man, its a conspiracy!

it is so weird seeing this thread keep getting necro-ed. Its like an artifact. Its amazing to see how some things never change but some things have super changed.

Guides / Re: [N2] Nano's Noobs 103 - Crewing a metajunker
« on: April 17, 2015, 02:27:09 pm »
Basically against a junker as a blenderfish there is functionally no bad direction to engage from. Against a pyra you HAVE to not be in front of the pyra in order to effectively fight it. You need good positioning to have the carro shoot the balloon.

BTW to the dude asking about armor. Get it buffed. Junker armor is very central and a great candidate for buffing.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Kero Claw Alternative
« on: April 17, 2015, 02:16:54 pm »
You youngins don't remember, this is actually how Kerosene initially functioned. I honestly liked it. My junker would bring kero, tar barrel, and hydrogen. If its less effective than both though you probably don't need the two x damage.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Clip size rounding and reload time

To piggy back on other comments, charged and greased fill the same basic rule, dps increase. Greased however is mathematically better at this with the exception of small clip guns. I worry this change would muddy the distinction.

Mines aren't exactly what I called imbalanced towards the side of OP, so why a nerf?

Since the next patch is not terribly close, most of what in dev ap is stuff being tested, not necessarily eminent changes. Therefore a healthy degree of seperation between actual testers and people theory crafting is healthy.

Dev App Testing / Re: Dev App 1.4.0 (475)

Try looking at it in game. I'd hardly call where it is nerfed to oblivion.

Dev App Testing / Re: Dev App 1.4.0 (475)

May be worthwhile remembering that dev ap is equal parts balancing before patches and testing concepts. I imagine today's changes are more part of the latter. I doubt this would all go into production. I wouldn't start freaking out just yet.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Extinguisher Buff
« on: April 10, 2015, 09:57:18 am »
I like 2 and 5 personally. You can extinguish - pipe but there is still fire window and its not nearly as great as chem - mallet - mallet. Therefore chem remains the premier main engineer fire suppression whereas the ext can be used by run arounds. If a component is flamed out you can ext it and slightly repair it and use it. Great for emergencies, but still overall not great for sole repair.
