The Gallery / Guns of Icarus Online Cosplay
« on: March 01, 2013, 11:46:04 pm »
Some of you may have seen my basic engineer costume on the facebook page or old forum; I've made a deviant art for future projects and various other things.

I'm working on Aurora right now! I plan to make quite a few costumes, as time allows.

Anyone else have anything in the works?

General Discussion / New Players: Utilize the Tutorials from the Old Forum
« on: February 24, 2013, 08:03:00 am »
We've had a serious onslaught of new players and I just want to direct them back to the tutorials that were all posted on the old forum. I've had a few crews over the last couple of days that were new but eager to learn, wondering if there was a wiki where they could learn the ins and outs of their chosen profession.

There were a lot of phenomenal tutorials that were posted on the old forum. Please read them if you are new and please direct your crews to them if you are experienced and encountering new folks. Some don't seem to know about the forum at all yet.

Let's make the best of the swelling of numbers!

General Discussion / Re: Achievements - what's your game?
« on: February 24, 2013, 07:50:32 am »
I've been an engineer since I started playing the game. I leveled rapidly and then not at all because I didn't really pay attention to the achievements. I'm much more interested in keeping my ship up than leveling. I know enough piloting to take over if a captain leaves mid match and enough gunning to gun when it's appropriate for me to do so. Otherwise, I keep us from crashing and burning; that's what I'm good at and what I prefer to do. I haven't really leveled anything else.

I don't nit-pick with anyone else's levels, unless they're 1:1:1 and piloting, in which case I ask if they've spent any time in the sandbox. You need to know what you can reasonably ask from your crew if you're captain. You need to know the range of your weapons and you need to know the how taxing a situation is on your engineers.

I am, however, used to dealing with a crew that is literally paid in real life to do what they do in game.
