It seems like a chore more then a reward to keep these titles honestly.

Well, titles wouldn't reflect a teams dominance on certain maps if it was easy to keep them.

Would that kind of hubris leave them vulnerable if an upset happens and the over-bidding team loses?

That's something I've always been unsure about.
Is waiting out the animation - whereby if you leave the gun halfway through the reload it defaults to the previous ammo - part of the intended design or is it a bug?

Thank you very much for the kind words, Byron and Wundsalz.

It was a very thrilling tournament, every match I was involved in were very challenging and a lot of fun with tons of great moments - from BFS booby trapping the crap out of canyons and creating a tense environment, to the Brood scaring the crap out of us with their awesome use of map terrain, and the Gents fighting toe to toe, culminating in that memorable battle on either side of that long bridge - just to name a few.

It was an around great day of competitive play. Thanks to everyone for participating and fighting well. The organisers may put on a good show (and thank you for that Qwerty), but really it's the players that get involved that makes it awesome.

Also, double kudos to the Gents. Very impressive show that day. I'm taking it as a sign of good things to come!

If no one minds, I'd like to speak on behalf of the Ducks for a moment.

And so it is with the conclusion of the Cogs Season 2, and the end of a very intense few weeks, that Squash has officially retired as Mother Duck, leader of the Ducks.

This is an important and sad day because Squash is, in no small part, responsible for a significant amount of the ducks success as a clan, both competitively and generally. What started as 3 friends just trying to find a good crew-based, tactical ship combat game to play, has evolved into (one of) the biggest clans in the game, filled to the brim with awesome, good natured people and xemko (:P), with the best competitive spirit I’ve seen in just about any game, and boasting 3 separate competitive teams all with excellent players. There is a reason people tend to gravitate towards joining the ducks; it’s always been a safe, friendly, fun and welcoming environment for everyone because of the close-knit community we have been able to build for ourselves.

There’s no other clan I’d rather be a part of, and leading the impact that the ducks have had on Icarus is a fantastic accomplishment. We’ve influenced meta, been involved in and supported the community, and everyone knows who the ducks are, from competitive veterans, to random players in the Muse AmA asking ‘what’s with all the quacking?’

A lot of this would not have been possible without Squash at the figurative helm. The new leaders have big shoes to fill, but we have a good example to go by.

Thank you, Squash. May you find the peace you are searching for.

For the youtubes? Are you doing a Let's Play? I've watched one of outlast already. The guy blubbered like a baby and had the widest, most fear filled eyes I've ever seen in a gamer.

Pretty great :p

Another good bet would be to find people in game that you enjoy playing with. Get them on your friends list and get to know them a bit more. Then when you sort out what your clan is going to be, invite them to be a part of it. If they aren't affiliated with anyone (a lot of people aren't), and also enjoy playing with you, they're more likely to tag along. The game is much better when you can regularly play with good people, so everyone wins.

I think the majority of the clans in this game didn't actually migrate to here from other games, but instead started locally just by revolving around people that enjoy playing with each other.

Good luck with the clan formation!

He had been for a while now I think, and often subbed in competitive teams when needed.

Anyway, it's done now, let's leave it be.

Cullen you've been doing a stand up job with a league that you inherited.

Thanks!
