This type of ammunition could have different effects depending on target status.
For example this "water hose" type of ammunition would extinguish fires on
friendly ships and slow player movement on enemy ones.

Good idea. I like the dual purpose.

Nice idea but the implementation needs a lot of work. Especially the design. I see at least 4 different fonts in use (more than 2 on a site is a bad idea). I see a lot of big font sizes and it's unclear of the layout in some areas.

Honestly though the worst part is it's hosted on "webs.com". I would invest in a proper domain name and hosting if you want (and you want everyone else) to take this project seriously.

Back when the old forums were still around, I decided to try starting a new community with a better forum. Maybe someday we can look at helping each other out with it: http://www.childrenoficarus.com/forums/index.php

Gatling & mortar for my Pyramidion. The armour is destroyed then finished off with some explosive mortars. The other guns are flares/flamethrowers or whatever the hell my crew wants.

Yesterday my ambush was ambushed.

In the Canyon Ambush map, I was flying a Pyra with an allied Junker. We were versing 2 Goldfish.

We spawned in the open area. The Goldfish has no rear gun, so I thought it'd be best to get behind them, so I suggested the Junker to be bait at the opening to the open area and I would hide next to the cliff wall (that some ships can fly over). We waited for a few minutes, my finger hovering over the throttle-up key.

Out of no-where in half a second half of my ship was destroyed, mainly my engines. One of the Goldfish was behind us and let rip his Hwacha at close range! I never knew there were 2 entrances to where we spawned. Luckily the pilot went past us, so once we repaired our engines, we chased them. After a short battle we somehow destroyed BOTH Goldfish!

We were pretty amazed that we survived AND we destroyed both foes. :)

- Fixed a networking bug that would cause severe "lag spikes" in the face of minor packet loss

I really hope this has fixed the problem that's plagued me for eons now! Will post if it hasn't gone away.

I used to have lag spikes every 10 minutes. Now it's every 2 hours. Thanks Muse!

The Docks / Looking for an Australian crew

I'm sick of playing on 300ms servers. I want to hop onto Guns Of Icarus Online and see at least one Oceania match.

Why don't we form a "crew" for Australian and New Zealanders? It doesn't have to be formal, unless we want it to, with the primary goal to simply organise us and to host regular matches.

We could host regular matches every night or every few nights. We could form crews to fight against or with. Eventually we could even have a tournament or a proper clan!

I like the icons you use and the use of segments, however I'm still worried that they're too small and it'll be too hard to see them on a dark background. Can you try it with a different stroke than white?

The outer segments of the icon aren't helping with clarity. Especially on a dark background.

I'd prefer a slight fade/pulse effect to show that it's being contested or captured. Spinning is a bit too distracting.

I do like your idea with splitting the icon in half to show each team's contesting level. But I thought capturing is linear: it goes enemy, neutral, friendly. So it's not necessary to split it up.
Edit: Ohhhh the segments on either side show the number of ships capturing?

The number in the circle is still very unclear what it means. Someone should be able to start playing this game without having to ask or experiment as to what that number (or icon) means in the capture point icon.

Why don't we have the number of ships on each team who are in the cap point right below the icon?

Why can't we just have voice commands for captain-to-captain communication?

That would be helping quite I lot, I guess, for players without a mic. Bear in mind that it includes the danger of trolls spamming voice commands and the limited possibilites of predefined voice commands in the many situations you will encounter.
Still, voice commands might be at least a help for captains too.

It's good even if you do have a mic. I use voice commands regularly and don't talk as much now, because it's much clearer with voice commands as they display a message on the screen.

Trolls abusing the system? They can already abuse regular voice commands (if they wanted to). These commands would simply be an extension to the current system.
