Well we have a month at least to get it done so we are going to have to start planning what we want it to be but Qwerty said we should take inspiration from here http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?feels%5B%5D=Relaxed&feels%5B%5D=Uplifting&Search=Search+by+Feel Eternal hope and Peaceful desolation are the ones he wants us to look at so I need to get some guys together to start to write some music after we decide what we are doing.

Good news had a talk with Qwerty earlier today and he gave us the opportunity to put together a small sample for the VN project and he may allow us to do some music for it.

General Discussion / Re: Is this kind of behavior acceptable in GOIO?

Eukari I don't think you understand what QKO means by "casual" and "Hardcore" gamers in this game. We have all types of players in what we call "hardcore", Clans, Artists, Commentators or just really good players who are involved in the game. You don't have to be an elitist to see that there is a strong divide between players. You have players who play once a week but they post on the forums regularly in my opinion this is a "Hardcore" Guns of Icarus player or a player like me who has played about 830 hours on this game and is one of the few people who aren't in a clan simply because I want to enjoy the game but at the same time do it with some sort of skill based game-play, who also speaks to the devs about game bugs and so forth, this I would also consider a "Hardcore" gamer. Basically what QKO was saying is the more you give a damn about this game and how it runs the more of a "Hardcore" gamer you are.

Disclaimer: any and all references are strictly based to this game I am not referring to hardcore or casuals from other games.

Gameplay / Re: New names under spots
« on: August 13, 2013, 06:36:40 pm »
What I'm saying is where did we say that we needed to have the names on the ship could we not use our intelligence to work it out seriously the only reason that we would possibly need names under each ship would be if they were both the same ship and we were on a beginners match, I am saying that it just makes gameplay silly if all we do is target a ship that has a name under instead of working out which ship is which when we engage them by their weapons or by who is destroying parts. Gameplay isn't about who can shoot the most things or repair the most objects it's about using wit, guile and subterfuge to outsmart your enemy, so that you arent just in a game where you end up with everyone sitting on one point each. Coordination is the best part of team-work and if you remove the need for communication then it makes it even easier just to have silent matches, which is not a good thing for this game.

Exactly it removes all gameplay and just makes it quite stupid its making the game more easy for easy players but its making it worthless for players that are skilled. It was already easy to tell the difference between ships now its just slapping people, who have intelligence, in the face.

As a captain who believes in skill and relying on ability rather than what the game can offer, I believe that the new names under a spotted ship is dumbing down the game. That's it if you want more of an argument comment.

Release Notes / Re: Version 1.3.1 Release Notes

I'm not saying the numbering is completely bad but could we not maybe have it back to where it used to be so it looks better and yet still have the number slots

Isn't putting the names of enemy ships and making the weapon slots now have numbers, instead of looking very well presented and making someone know where their weapons are, just dumbing down the game?

if your from the midwest, does recording the audio of stabbing someone with a knife repeatedly count as an instrument?

It does if you can hide it in a piece of music.

Played electric/upright bass in the orchestra and jazz band up though graduating college.  Usually play metal on my fender, jazz/other on the upright and fretless electric. I dabble in guitar.

Excellent we are now getting quite a good range of instruments together.

Nice I think this is starting to get together and I think the first opportunity we can grab is the new VN project by qwerty and that lot. If we can all agree to do it I will ask them if they will let us do it.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Divide Lochnagar damage by clip size
« on: July 28, 2013, 08:48:14 am »
Thanks Echo, that was the point I was making I understood the point being made and I said why the ammo was noob unfriendly. If there is an ammunition that any person can use relatively well that can cause serious damage sometimes instant death it is too over-powered also the fact that it damages a weapon is to balance it, you really shouldn't use it on a light weapon as it will destroy it that's just a good balance compared to allowing some one another chance at shooting if they failed the first time. In response to your theory about the lochnager Gatling it's just not a serious viable option as it takes a full clip on a gatling gun to shred a hull even with lochnagars improved damage it would not be effective but if you were to put the lochnagar in a light Flak cannon it would be effective even with one shot you can reduce the hull health to 50%. Like we said before its about understanding this game and how it works.

If you find our attitude hostile or nonconstructive well I don't quite think you read the majority of my post where I said find a captain or clan as we are a nice community. So, yeah, that's very rude and insulting.
