Pyramidion - Albatross
It is thought that an Albatross that follows a ship out to sea is an omen of good luck.  So don't shoot her down, less you find the bowsprit of my hull buried into your flank and I force you to wear it as penance. (Salutes to anyone who gets it)

This brought me back to 10th grade English. Thanks for the fond memories :)

Hey,

I like where you are going with the Gunner perks (specially the range finder). Most crews have a general makeup of

1 Pilot
1 Gunner
2 Engineers

The main benefit of having a gunner on board is the 3 ammo types you bring with you. Usually, your gunner will bring with him a long range type, Disabler round, and a close quarters high damage type. You could effectively do this with 3 engies, if each engie carries a different round, and switches out for the different scenarios, but that can become a hassle in a firefight. as for repairing, 1 engie should be your dedicated engie who manages main repairs (balloons and hull and whatnot) and then your secondary engie helps out on guns, as well as being the "oh crap fix that hull" engie...  I'm always interested in how people arrange their crew classes, as it will lead to different strategies.

Gameplay / Team Tactics

Figured I would start this thread. Discuss the multi-ship tactics you like to use in battle to dominate your opponents.

The main thing that I've come across is literally the "Bait and Switch". Whereas a lone Squid, or goldfish searches for the enemy team, and once found. Lures them back to a point where their allies are lurking.

Unfortunately this has never worked in my experience. most of the time, the enemy doesn't bite. likewise the other captains get impatient :P. So I'm curious to see what you guys think

This may be better suited for the Feedback and Suggestions thread, but I do agree with you there should be some way to measure wind. not sure if the flags on some ships assist with that. to be honest, I have not really paid much attention to it.

Muse's response to the question "Are there planes in this game?" asked by somebody on FB.

"Not yet! But there will be in the future."

I really hope it doesn't break the game (or rather the "feel" of the game).

I don't think that this will break the feel of the game to be honest. This just adds a different type of strategy to the game. Muse would not sacrifice the current feel just to add features.  They will incorporate it in.

*Smoke can be seen coming from the back of the saloon. Eventually Roland appears with a steak on a plate. It's looks charred*
*Roland hands the plate to Shinkurex*

Sorry for the wait. I didn't realize Yiski had lochnagar fuel powering the stove. Sure, it looks black on the outside, but it's actually medium well. Enjoy.

*Eyes the steak*

"looks edible enough"

*looks in Qwerty's direction*

"pleasures all mine"

*Sinks his teeth into the steak, and lets out a low wistle*

"that may have been the best steak I've had in years. compliments to the chef"

*Glances up from his light nap, and assesses the newcomers. Seeing as they pose no immediate threat, Shink releases his hold on his pistol*

'Where is that barkeep'

*Notices Wazulu, and ponders on how he made it into the saloon undetected*

"Care for a drink? I'll buy your first round if you tell me your stories"

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Beginner omni class

What about allowing class changes when your ship gets destroyed?  This way if things go south the captain can request some adjustments without being stuck in a hole the rest of the round.

In my humble opinion, I prefer the way that things are at the moment (not to say that an omni class is bad). One of the best points of this game, is to think up strategy for situations you may not usually come up against. It's pretty much a given that each ship should have 2 engies a pilot and a gunner. It's much more satisfying when you win with 2 gunners and 2 engies :P (though it's a very close match). It's for this reason that I dont think changing class mid game would be a good route to take.

*ponders for a moment*

"A juicy steak would be good, or whatever else you got. If you have anything to give it a little kick would be good as well."

*proceeds to the corner table, and sits*

"Thanks"

*takes a long drink of the ice cold milk*

"I'm a gun for hire, and have heard all about this place. Fate just seemed to have finally brought me here"

*looks around*

"Things look a little slow. Mind if I take a table and get some food?"

*Shink opens the door and takes a look around at the empty saloon. Modified field gun strapped to his back. He strolls up to the bar, and places 3 coppers down*
