Gameplay / Re: GUNS Balance Questions and Concerns v1.2

I will agree that the eruption of snowflakes that would be caused when all the alleged projectiles were hitmarked would be disturbing.

The issue isn't with the graphical representation as much as the fact the carronade doesn't wreck anything but balloons in any real capacity, despite stats suggesting it does.  Whether there's one projectile or 40, the mechanics are the core issue.  That's my own opinion, though.

If you play with Kibutsuri, be sure to call him 'Bakemono'.

Those mechanics would mean the whale is basically made out of cloth.

Battering ram would not be fun to fire for the gunner.  There's no 'shooting' involved, and if there were, it'd only be at the occasional moment when you were contacting the other ship.

I'm talking about in the lobby, just loadouts alone.  What you're talking about is different.

What if loading heatsink into a gun that was on fire put it out?  That would keep gunners from being stuck with the "DAD my gun's on fire" vs "DAD my gun's broken" dilemma, plus aid in the extinguishing achievements that are annoying and force you to sacrifice your team's patience and effectiveness for an achievement.

It would keep the gunner from being so helpless at the gun, but not allow them to put out fires on non-gun components.  Sure, an engineer could bring it too, but they'd have to spend time loading the gun with the ammo, and couldn't extinguish non-gun parts, so it wouldn't make it so they could go spanner/hammer/buff and still fight fires.

I really wish the crazy king was random.  The predictable order isn't really crazy at all, and is more annoying than anything.
At first I always thought it would be too, but they opted for the ordered change so more strategy comes out of it. If they changed randomly, you would need a goldfish/squid to be the most effective, and I imagine they wanted to avoid forcing certain boats on certain maps to win.
If the points were closer together, that would also avoid forcing ship choices.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Fire! *Suggestion*

Flamethrowers are a novelty.  Just tap to repair then spray with an extinguisher/chem spray.  You've undone all the damage the fire did and put it out.  It really is an annoyance because it degrades performance of a component, but it's just that--annoying, not effective.  I have never seen one used against a remotely meta build and be successful.  I don't even use it on my Squid.

I'm with Ofiach.  The number of carronade projectiles seems way too low.  It makes the shatter aspect of it pretty worthless, even with heavy rounds loaded, but the shatter is nonexistant without heavy because there aren't enough hits to run a chance of getting components.

Recently, after the patch/server downtime on your 24th of May, and just before it, I have had 10-15s lag spikes, latency drops (the screen clears to just me, with a wrench, or not me at all, on the blue-fade-to-sand-orange gradient), and outright drops where I am fully disconnected from the game.

I did not have these problems before the second-to-latest patch, networking, framerate, or otherwise.  After the latest patch, they got worse.

EDIT:  How do you want me to gather data to address this?

Sounds like what I do to ships when I ram them anyways, squish them into the terrain.
But I see your point it might cause a bad collision issue on a map like Canyon.  Still, would be super awesome, be like the rail gun in FEAR.
I'm still bitter about that.

I think the sudden imparting of massive velocity to a ship is going to put people inside the buildings on maps with shady collision detection.

Killing birds causes your ship's crew to die of starvation, then rise as ghosts and torture you.

I fly KC-135s.  They're the workhorse and whipping boy of the Pacific.  We used to have engineers on board, but not anymore.

Things are political in the US, but I guess we just don't do 'delicate'.

Gameplay / Re: Defeating two galleons
« on: May 24, 2013, 03:40:32 am »
If your teammates can distract the other Galleon, you could likely go one-on-one with a Squid.  If you'r enot a fan of the Squid, go with the jackfish.

I'm usually more for focusing all your firepower on one enemy, but if you can't put damage on one of the galleons, they'll be using all three guns.
