Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Duel at Dawn Invisible Wall
« on: March 11, 2013, 08:47:03 am »
duel at dawn is the rookie pilot killer, leave it as it is. it's the only way we can stop new pilots on insisting to fly galleons as if they were squids.

Although I've had some trouble getting enough people to pull this off properly, I've been working on a squid galleon setup that would have the squid make an enemy ship immobile using some clever harpoon tactics I may describe later (to put it shortly, I once killed a spire by slamming into the ground with a harpoon) and a galleon that waits until I have a ship immobile and then kills it.

Sounds interesting. Have the potential to be as annoying as a ramming pyra

Alright,

I've decided to start this on monday, and alternate it every week, so that we can reach the max amount of players... So the Schedule is:

Monday the 11th
Tuesday the 19th
Wednesday the 27th

and so on.... Due to work and other obligations... The starting time would be 8 PM EST - 10 or 11 PM EST depending on volume of people who would like to learn.... I know people are in different timezones, so if you would like to setup something in your own timezone that's fine...

Thats me out then :p

Its 4am for me

General Discussion / Re: Details on spotting
« on: March 09, 2013, 10:54:28 am »
I still dont know how it works. So i just learned to do without so i can use bumpers. Hydrogen and claw.

What i can tell you is how shake works.
Going behind a part of the landscape breaks the spot.
Remember if an enemy can see you. You cant shake it.
Usually when i go behind sandstorms it breaks.

The squid bait can work. Fell for it when i started . My best advice is to stay together and ignore the squid or use the manticore to disable their engines

Hmm, considering that we want to get as many people as possible over the course of time, I'd say we let it alternate? One week Monday, one week Tuesday, one week Wednesday.. We'd have to strongly rely on the rest of the community for this, but by now there should be a big enough experienced playerbase

If people see the Battle the Invincible Art Team pop up at their Steam account, they'd surely see the "New Player Training Game" as well. With some luck, not only new ones would respond to that call, but also veterans that'd be willing to aid a hand, even if they don't step up here on the forum.

If it's a single day every week, I'd fear we'd let many people slip trough that net.
agreed

Could easily be done once each week. I have time to set away 2-3 hours once a week

after I made a post I realized that there were 3 pages :p
If a lot of what I said had been said before just disregard that.
I have a small sidenote too.

i add every low level who did an awesome job on my ship to my friendslist, and ask them to do the same. So as Charon says fill up your friendslist, thats what everyone else in this thread did.
