4700 matches as a community or per individual?  Im confused.

At present I'm still processing that PvP content is being locked behind PvE content.  This has my mind blown.  Im not sure I got the facts straight but all this time waiting for new ships or content for PvP and you lock it behind PvE? 

Clarification would be appreciated.

This is a worthy topic.  I was enamored with the game early when I realized it couldn't be solo'ed.  But also having the feeling of actually flying can't be replicated in another game.  I also found out early when the desire, focus, and effort is there you and your 4 man ship could carry a match even in the worst of circumstances.  Even a "solo" ship is not really solo when you are battling with 3 other people for the same goal.  When the underdog wins, it's always a nice feeling.  Or unexpected kills even in a loss. 

But the biggest determining factor was I saw a need to circumvent the toxicity I saw in high level captains.  They were not making the game fun.  They were ordering the crew like military.  We may have won.  But I did not enjoy myself in victory.  You can have fun in defeat and winning depending on your attitude.  I tend to have horrible flying days, and then some really good days (matches how erratic a person I am), but at the same time my crew is always respected and fun is had. 

I was contemplating hanging up my captains hat to move on to other games here recently.  But this topic definitely has me reconsidering.  Well done.  :D

seems pretty useless. especially when you get to higher levels some captains like to take more than one gunner. the current system works fine. remember you can always reccomend loadouts

Which they decline. And refuse to leave.
Or swap classes after accepting the loadout.
Also, I am yet to see higher level captain taking more than one gunner.

They do it with mine squids.  Thats pretty much it.

Prove it.

Higher level captain I consider above 40.

Myself and Fapcat are frequent double gunner-ers. (sometimes triple gunner squids. For fun and not so fun.)

You introduce a vote kick option it will be overused and abused.  Plain and simple.  If anyone knows of games that use it in the past they are associated with toxic communities.  All ya gotta do is get one salty person to initiate the vote and most people will follow like sheep and just kick when they dont even know why.  (left 4 dead 2)

Doesnt matter if you leave it to a captain to initiate.  That says that all captains in this game have a high moral standard to only kick true offenders when everyones definition of a troll is different. 

You initiate vote kick, you lose more players.  Then you're talking about a skeleton crew remaining of players.

On the subject of CA's i see a consistency of long time players with the CA tag just playing with other high level players, as well as other CA's consistently going and helping novice crews.    I think it's time to re-evaluate who is a CA now and fire and hire all over again.

He's giving a quite an honest opinion about his perception of the game from a novice viewpoint.  He's not the only one.  I'm sure many novices walk into this game saying "wtf, all i do is swing this hammer thing. no wonder the player base is this small."  then switching to gunner gets double gunners and vets rage. 

I see alot of response is give it time, tips on what a true engie does, however it doesnt matter because of the systemic issues this game has only a select few make it through the "boring" phase to understand the game as a whole and/or even care.

SM and I echo many sentiments laid out here in this thread and I don't want to add anymore redundancy to it. 

I will add there was a time  when I felt a personal responsibility to try and help the community and developers best I could based on what type of  game they made and what it required of it's players, make excuses for  the issues with the game to new players on behalf of muse, support through the market (still regret some purchases), and just overall promote a game I felt was in every way a breathe of fresh air and nice change in my gaming ways. 

Then I look at the forum history, this thread, my feedback replies from muse and just wonder to myself...............why on earth do I care more then the devs?

Now I concentrate on my friends and clanmates and look forward to BlackWake.

I'm not going to indulge you gentlemen much further but I find it absolutely hilarious that the two people (jedi and sparkle) on their violins about their reports are the most toxic in public lobbies and games.  What you dont think I've heard you?  I've seen your actions?  Leaving in the middle of games?  After thrashing your crew and other people in lobbies?  I've seen it personally, and I've seen the ripple effect you have on the people you leave in your wake. 

Shouting, name calling, arguing like petulant children.  It's a history folks.  You were not called out on one incident Sparkle.  You are toxic in nature.  And the reprecussions will follow you everywhere.

I will unfortunately always log a stupid amount of hours in this game.  I hate myself for it.  Because I'm tired of the endless glitches each patch, beta, or w/e that keep popping up.  The ladder gltich currently makes me wanna walk my own plank.  What really irks me though, is why I have to convince new players these glitches they experience on the ships have to be overlooked.  I keep having  a harder time explaining why Muse hasnt fixed these same bugs for months/years and exactly why Alliance is a priority over Skirmish.  I don't want to inadvertently excuse the devs for this stuff to new people but yet forced to if I don't want to turn people off of the game thus decreasing player base. 

Endless vicious cycle.

Youre in a sweet spot.  Just jump in.  And enjoy learning the game all over.  Once you learn it again, youll either be bored or continue with it.

There is also a simple way to preserve the option for people who want to mess around with having 2 or 3 gunners - allow recommended loadouts to be a back door way of getting a second gunner.

this is necessary for any talk of hard locking gunner position.  if you take away my ability for a 3 gunner mining squid what's the point of life.  too restrictive otherwise.
