Pretty true.

Many times in a match its communicated how many shots from X gun went into the enemy ship's exposed armor. With time and recognizing the damage models of the ship, a player can get a general idea of the percentage of health remaining. Many many times have I had adrenalin fueled matches where I was telling the gatling gun to keep firing and they will get a gatling kill. They had to trust that call because I made it based off my knowledge.

Have two identical ships at a set distance fire opposite greased at each other while aiming at the same point and swapping ammos each round. Screenshot armor and repeat until results are consistent. Retest at more ranges and with other ships



we did those sorts of tests with practice dummies to get the range/spread/damage down. +33% was unnoticeable.

 the game is not played with two stationary ships only firing one gun while aiming at the same point at each other.  in an in-game battle conditions, +33% jitter was unnoticed by all testers.

If this kind of test is too difficult or time consuming then don't test at all!

I remember on the Discord that there was a discussion about changing the model to three barrels or having it two shots because of the gun model and overall a few individuals being concerned about the model of the gun and its reflection of two shots.

But, you load a different ammo and suddenly that aspect of the lore is out the window.

The Hwatcha, for example, benefits the most from burst. The overwhelming majority (if not, literally everyone) of people that use the gun (besides the unknowledgable - newbies) load burst. But, burst gives it 24 shots. The Hwatcha only has 20 rocket spots.

This same rule applies to the mortar, banshee, light flak (to an extent since it uses two magazines and those magazines don't change shape or size with different ammos) am I missing any?

I don't see the issue with the model misrepresenting the shots.

My point is to please not concern yourselves with the "lore" of the gun and the model.

I was just killed by an ally who was intentionally trolling me with mines, trying to kill me. If you arent going to put in a punishment for that kinda of behavior, besides i assume some kind of slap on the wrist, then please disable that particular method of trolling.

I would actually be okay with them reducing it to only knockback effects. I know it can still troll but I feel some sort of punishment is needed for stray mines.

I think this goes into the high risk high reward thing though and it might make it semi-inbalanced to not do damage. Very often in every level of gameplay from casual to competetive does an ally mine connect with their teamate - despite the lack of purposeful intention.

I feel in this case that the real problem is trolling and not the mines themselves.

Which brings up your point about punishments.

You can mine an ally to death and it will count as "A Harsh World" death.

There should be punishment for shooting teamates or at least some kind of something.

But again, a troll will troll and a punishment for shooting teamates cannot be too harsh when literally the only weapon that actually does something is the mines.

Would it be fair if mines did not do damage or knockback to teamates? I really don't think so. I can't think of a valid solution to this problem except for maybe introducing the ability to replay games in order to better utilize the report system.

Why don't we have a replay system?

that looks really cool thank you! i did not have information about the kickstarter, but that sounds fair enough.

Yea, no problem. That game seems more exploratory / free roam. One of their selling points is no XP and no grinding. Simply explore, collect, create.

Come back to this game if you want something more structured - especially for pvp.
