Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Dear Devs, Make Game F2p

Players of our low caliber...?
I just ran into 6 full ships of low levels last night.
If anything it's more difficult to find players of HIGH caliber. So I dunno what you are on about.

I also like the fact you CASUALLY insulted the GOI community because you are afraid of the backlash pf comments from posting this. Frankly, you should be, because your points are REALLY UPSETTING putting it nicely.

But since
I can’t be bothered to read them because they are terribly uninteresting.

Im not going to bother trying to counter because it's "terribly uninteresting"
So...I'll just leave this here.

Respectfully of course.
I know it is pretty much against everything we should stand for as a great community, but that picture, in this context, made my day. I really hope the mods don't have to flag everyone in this thread for breaking the rules...

Is it bad that I physically winced when reading this? Especially the part where the guy basically insulted anyone who comments on it.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Guns on youtube

I am not surprised it has been brought up before. We're all of my ideas already stated in the past, or were those generally purely unofficial works? Another perk to having this channel would be that muse could use it for their relevant videos, like updates and whatnot. Alas, it may be too big a project for so small a community. And the people on the D&D forums think Their hobby is niche.

I was thinking of bringing this up with muse through a feedback email. If one of them were to take the time to start the channel, making it at least semi-official, they could then hand it off to someone like the community ambassadors, who would be the ones who did the actual work. This way Muse does not have more on their plate. The CAs would then be able to go through submitted videos, picking whichever ones they find the most informative for new players, and then either edit them themselves or, if none of them have the time or skills for editing, send them to someone in the community who does. Then the video gets sent back to the CAs to get put up, all without actually taking muse away from Alliance.

Feedback and Suggestions / Guns on youtube
« on: May 12, 2016, 03:48:41 pm »
So, we are all pretty aware of the guns presence on YouTube. Mostly youtubers who are novice, at best, at the game. What if there was a dedicated channel for guns? A channel with a different video for everything, kind of a tutorial 2.0 for those who want to go deeper than the main tutorial. A breakdown of each class, and their tools and job, a breakdown of each ship, and their meta, as well as off-the-wall but still functional loadouts, and a breakdown of each gun, with what ammo works on them, and what ammo doesn't.

I am talking about a different video for each of these, for those who are new to the game. Wanna pilot on junker? Watch the pilot video, and the junker video. There you go, you are fully prepped, though the same cannot be said for your crew.

So, what are your thoughts on this?

Gee willickers, there are a lot more curse words on the forum than I am used to.

That aside, I am here to say that I always play alone. I think I have been invited to about one ship stacking game, and never started my own, so I always solo queue, by choice. I enjoy getting a random crew of rusty cogs, and finding out how to build a clock out of them. Even a Snowflake* has its uses in the right machine, and I enjoy that challenge of finding the best configuration almost as much as playing the game.

Maybe I am a snowflake in my own way for this belief, but I really do think this game is fun and playable as a one man team, as long as you are willing to work with what you are given.

*Is that term still a thing on here?

Q&A / Re: What's new?
« on: May 10, 2016, 12:22:50 am »
Thanks for all that. I did miss the stamina patch, but remember that being the next big thing before I dropped off. How does loch work on Mercury? I remember running that combo every now and then, though I don't remember my reasoning. The squid change sounds interesting. Any good combos with the back and side I should watch out for? And how does burst work out on the flamer now? Does it help mitigate the change to fire mechanics?

Q&A / What's new?
« on: May 09, 2016, 10:37:43 pm »
I have been pretty much out of the skies since the pyra nerf. Anyone able to catch up an old pilot on the new tricks? I played the other day(and actually saw GeoRmr, who I remembered from here) and seemed to handle everything fine in my faithful junker, The Infallible I, despite my time on the ground. What changes have been made, aside from the UI changes, that I should know about?

Sorry to correct you, but I believe the proper use of that meme would be more along the lines of "So you like to ddos Muse? You must be a high-ranking anonymous member."

I was referring to your nerd comment. Seemed like you were kind of calling him out, which could start a retaliation, which I am sure would rather be avoided by all parties.

Might he be explaining buff/pre buff?

Not likely, he attributes his win rate to this, and comes to us forum "nerds" (his words) for help.

Kamoba, noooooo don't go to the dark side! Don't give in!

The Lounge / Re: Community Gets More Toxic With Every Update
« on: May 06, 2015, 08:29:42 am »
While these people that you consider toxic may be pretty bad, I would say it is a good thing. They may be horrible at human interaction, and often blow their point way out of proportion, but they prevent the community from stagnation. If everyone just agrees with each other it would get old fast, and become a community where everyone eventually thinks it is impossible for any of them to have a bad idea. So while these people could tone it down a bit, I do not want them removed from the community entirely. Removing someone for hate speech is one thing, but voicing their opinion, however loudly they choose to do it, should be their right.

Agree with most on here, community is still not quite to the point of "toxic" yet. I will however say that some who were previously just irritable are now outright furious. Nothing wrong with it, they are entitled to their opinions, this is just an observation.

General Discussion / Re: Was GOIO A Fluke?
« on: May 03, 2015, 03:33:58 pm »
A friend of mine compared goio to Princess Bride. It is a cult game, with niche gameplay. You cannot get the same thing anywhere else, but it is such a specific and unforgiving game that most either do not or cannot stick around. I already mentioned in a different section that it is possible, due to our low population, that those who play it right now are all naturals at it, to a degree. Maybe it took a while for some to pick up on the cues that others consider obvious, but at least they eventually learned. I think that most who left simply couldn't cut it in the world. This steep learning curve, combined with a mix of different art styles, makes it a very difficult game to pinpoint. I personally see it as one of the most competitive games out there, with most of the population playing competitively in one way or another.

To sum it all up, a very unique game. That makes it difficult to handle, because the devs cannot look anywhere for help, and must figure everything out on their own.

You mean, crew of your clan or actual AI?

His use of AI has confused me my entire time on the forums. Never sure which he means.
