That moment when someone on Enworld starts this thread
   http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?488616-Where-do-I-find-the-stats-on-sky-whales

And you have to struggle not to make a Goio reference.

Well, to be fair, those are supposed to be semi-competitive tactical team games. They just are not played that way.

I was going to say the same thing Shade, and I never even got to play a match with him(her? I hate how little I knew one of the most awesome people on the boards...) that aside, I played once with Valhallen, and that was fun, though I am now only good at pilot, and would get his ship killed if I tried to engie on it. He was really the only name I remember from the past, since I solo queue.

When I first started out I was engineer on a Junker. Captain Valhallen's My Junk, which he used for ramming mostly. I had a heck of a time keeping his engines up when he was moonshineing, but had fun anyway. As a result, my first ship was a Junker. I was stupid at the time, so I had gats on top deck, banshees on bottom, and a merc on the front.

Release Notes / Re: Version 1.4.6 Hotfix 1

That new content sounds good. Is this a new thing, or have you done that in past updates as well? I remember we had a specific thread that was "what would you say if you could add a tip to the loading screen tips" . Some made sense, some did not, and a few of mine got hilariously butchered by auto correct.

Q&A / Alliance weps
« on: May 31, 2016, 04:14:40 pm »
So, I have seen some mention of the Alliance weapons, and they have been pushing some little memory button in the back of my mind. Finally, I remembered a thread a long while back, that was dedicated to theory crafting alternate forms for weapons, like an Apollo Heavy Missle launcher, or a Charybdis Heavy Mortar. Does anyone else think this thread might have something to do with some of the new weapons?

Muse, I want to let you know, though I am sure you already do, not everyone thinks the game is now ruined. I like the update, and can see the reasons behind the changes to spectate swapping. I loved the new tutorials, and foresee them helping a lot. Of course, all of this is coming from a guy who only ever solo queues. I occasionally used the swapping, for noble purposes of course, but I can live without it, and don't really understand the rather violent reaction to it.

Have not tried VIP, but look forward to it, although I wouldn't mind the ability for a team to vote for who gets VIP, or for someone to volunteer as the VIP.

Feedback and Suggestions / New update
« on: May 24, 2016, 04:57:01 pm »
So, anyone played some of the new update? I didn't have a lot of time, so I just did the new tutorials, and found them quite well done. It definitely covered a lot of the things I see most people complain about new players doing, and explained the obvious things with an appropriate level of snark. Has anyone else tried these, and what do you think about them? What about VIP mode, anyone played that yet?

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Vet criteria

Yay for match count, vet = 1k matches.

Match completion is kind of reduntant since it's being reset, and most vets have 99ish% mach completion anyway.

It is easy to fix. All you do is make it so the game doesn't count matches unless they are completed.

I have it as a fact as some might grind match numbers by simply dipping into games.

Gotta cover your bases.

Are you sure it's possible to exploit the match count in such a way and if there is, wouldn't this be extremely easy to fix?

That moment when a player who's normally good with words logs into the forum to write a farewell thread, and is lost for words.
 :-\

That moment when someone who is just some text on a forum to you leaves, and actually makes you feel emotions even though you have never even heard their voice. Farewell...

I'd say a 50% failure rate is pretty high, especially given the high standard some individuals in this conversation are known to impose. As far as the context of the conversation impacting understanding of it, Ceres is at liberty to behave differently. If he did so long term I've little doubt his efforts at communication would be clearer as more benefit of the doubt would be afforded him.

I didn't reply, because I wouldn't have said anything but "I think it seems like a good idea.". I know Ceres or, as I first knew him, Jazzhands has a history for disliking new players, but I feel it is unfair to read everything he writes as though it were targeted towards banning all new players.

I thought jontron's video was hilarious. He even won the match.

He actually says he thinks the teamwork is cool.

yall are haters.

I just found the behavior in his video a bit annoying. First move as engie? Hop on the big gun. Shield is down? Ignore it, and say that you know it's your fault. I understand he did it as a joke, but I didn't find that joke very funny.

... New game modes....

What about the recently announced Skyball, Arena, VIP and that convoy based one I forgot the name of.

I don't know about skyball or the convoy one, but if Arena is anything like FFA, I would love it.

I was never a fan of the VIP style games, I just find that sort of targeted play a bit boring. A free for all however that would be fun. Making split second alliances, or just saying f*** it and killing everyone you catch sight of. Capture the flag would be fun too.

I had a YouTuber on my ship once... Who was playing with audio off...
A shame because if he had audio off he may have been useful...

But yes, YouTubers who get paid to advertise the game should meet criteria..

No more bullshit crap JonTron fuck ups, I can't believe they paid him and that video was what he produced.

YouTubers used to have to earn a living, now they're getting too big for their boots and being dicks about it...

lol I played with jontron under that name on that youtube video.

I don't regret yelling at him. He was so was bad. Just goes to show I treat every bad player equally.

For a long while my friend, who loves watching jontron, had been telling me I needed to watch his video for GoIo. I finally got around to it and, wow. The only word I can really think of is Horrorshow. I have never gotten a player that behaved anything like he did. Is his behavior the norm for the bad new players I see people talking about?  Or do you think he was just doing that for extra giggles?
