Feedback and Suggestions / Possible game mode: Capture the point
« on: April 27, 2015, 02:11:32 pm »
Seeing as co-op mode has the use of bases.

This mode came to mind. I noticed awhile ago there was a feature called cargo hook.

Goal: capture points (that holds a crate of cargo) via the cargo hook and bring it to your base.

Mechanics

point: the point is interact-able. It can bounce off rams and explosive shots and can be popped (it auto fixes/regens the dmg dealt over time) and it can be destroyed (if it cant rebuild its balloon fast enough it will get destroyed).

cargo hook: You must hover near the point so that a tether can attach itself on it (like capturing but much faster). The ship it connects to is the first ship that makes contact (just like how point captures are credited to first ship that begins and finishes the cap).

Drag: The heavier the ship the less drag caused by the point they are pulling along. So a galleon wont have any movement penalty at all. But a squid will get a severe punishment because of how light it is and how its barely able to move it.

Losing point: Point can be dropped if you either destroy the ship carrying it. While being carried it cannot be hurt but it can block arcs.

Point spawn: points are spawned every 100 seconds (of up to 3 at once) or 10 seconds after a point is taken to base or destroyed. It will appear in the resource point and float upwards into mid lvl. It becomes active when it lights up.

Fortress theme.

Barbed wire... on the hand rails.

"Everyone brace for impact!"

"ow!"

"Okay maybe not brace. It will hurt less!"

Feedback and Suggestions / Tar=explosive/ flammable
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:21:23 pm »
Tar doing less actual dmg in terms of component (like half dmg nerf)

But is prone to explode when exposed to fire. This results in huge fire dmg to all parts exposed to the tar. Creating 5 stack fires.

The flame fart squid=new meta.

Steam Workshop / Work shop wish list
« on: April 13, 2015, 12:44:19 pm »
Mainly want 2 things to fix what bothers me about the game in terms of lore.

1. A goddess decal that doesn't look like a man.

2. A christmas santa costume OR a christmas theme for ship. Theexcuse was if they did achristmas theme they'd have to do other holidaysaround the time. YOU ALREADY HAVE SANTA BEARD, ELF EARS AND ELF HAT THATS PRETTY CHRISTMASSY, JUST FINISH THE WHOLE PACKAGE.

As for workshop. More info provided on needed filetypes and etc that way you get the best possible quality. I mean the voice pack I'm working on will default to wav, but I need to know the ideal bit rate and etc. that works best for the game to convert to mp3 (which I assume is the format as it commonly is on many games)

Feedback and Suggestions / Map hazards
« on: April 11, 2015, 08:47:10 pm »
Thinking about it.

This is a war about rummaging through old age war relics. Surely you messing around with that stuff would cause all sorts of accidents as well as auto defense mechanisms activating.

I find it weird that refinery doesn't have ANY automated anti-air guns or missiles when someone is trying to cap.

Feedback and Suggestions / Proper AI
« on: April 10, 2015, 09:56:03 am »
AI that take the build in your reccomended slots. Upon match start.
e.g. your third slot is an engie with spanner mallet chem.

Your other two slots are taken by players so the AI upon match start will take the class and loadout reccomended for slot 3.
But after ragequits or whatever. You get the default AI (if it is not possible for it to be coded to spawn in with the recommended loadout of the slot it fills in).

This means scripts for buffing and chem spray patterns should the AI have it.

So... I say the script for idle chem spray, is AI doing chem patterns in order of hull, balloon and engines. When set to repair while everything is full health.

Guns are reactionary as usual or even outright ignored. As AI do tend to prioritise fixing a barely hurt hull over a burning gun (hence scripting them to do guns in combat is pointless coding as they would never really bother).

As for buffing? repair buffs engines, balloon and then hull. During attack idle, they buff the guns short 1 hit and hit it when they are about to use the gun.

In terms of priority with chem and buff. Buff goes first during repair. And then while the buff is active chem patterns.
They only resume buffing during idle when parts are no longer buffed but in full health.

As for high stack fires? They chem and then mallet. Just like normal AI. As opposed to spamming chem until the fire goes out and then after doing some actual fixing.

As for the possible problem of AI being the wrong class? Solution? reccomend build for empty AI slot. And so they will spawn as that reccomended build.

So... think WW2 london air raid but with modern london monuments. Like the ancient technology in paritan activated and sirens and spot lights are going off because it detects intruders in its air space. But no one to man the gun emplacements

Spot lights and ruins as far as the eye can see to the point that the sky box has painted on spotlights to suggest a vast endless city scape.

5 points to go from the globe as the middle to a corner of paritan rumble acting as a point (I say big ben)

and 3 other points. Including a dried up river side dock.

An abandoned factory/warehouse, filled with dense worker homes and apartment buildings.

and a vast river bed full of beached battle barges and gun placements all along a river side.

And this map has high buildings with the height ceiling just barely higher than them forcing people to actually fly wit skill around the varied terrain.

Many points also of varying heights. As you have to dive into the river bed to go down to the point where the beached flag ship

also spot lights act as stage flares as they illuminate ships inside clouds within its pathing.

Q&A / Point of badges?
« on: April 09, 2015, 07:03:02 pm »
Not like anyone will look for them, nor can people really see them on you.

So... why collect them? Why even have badges as a thing?

The Pit / Old crap you have
« on: April 08, 2015, 06:48:10 pm »
that just so happens to be worth like 5 times it was when you first bought it.

iunno... I just bought harvest moon boys and girls for the psp and just decided to see if rare stuff like that is hanging around other people's homes.

Aaaaah... very nice to be playing as Jack and hitting on the pink haired chicken girl for my waifu to have baby with within a game year. The memories, though not as butter smooth as it is on the ps1 version tho, due to the lack of a quick tool button (no r2 and l1) and it does suffer from load stuttering.

still though the muscle memory. the exact button presses to go to all the places and do all the tasks before 10pm.

Feedback and Suggestions / Half the hull nerf of the pyra
« on: March 27, 2015, 08:15:12 am »
I find myself targetting Pyras over any other ship because of that hull nerf and its really depressing how easy it is.

Pyra or junker? Pyra-bigger target, sluggish to turn, no hull. While the junker is a broadside and can really be found to have any real blind spots, plus it has a very tankable hull.

Pyra vs squid? pyra, squid has more mobility, more hull, small target.

Pyra vs fish? mobility, dangerous heavy gun that gets arcs fast. more hull.

seeing a pattern? The pyra needed a nerf but what was given was by far too harsh.

Feedback and Suggestions / New guns
« on: March 25, 2015, 11:31:51 pm »
Just post them here... make this a sticky thread or summat.

Heres one.

Flash bang-disables sight and sound of whole crew.

Chaff-disables all communications of all crew.

Or a combo of both. Flashbang is the instant effect...but the lingering effect is the chaff.
