General Discussion / Not sure where to put this
« on: December 28, 2014, 08:53:27 am »
Sorry if this is the wrong board for this question, and sorry if I'm sounding pushy at all, but a few days ago, I played a game with Jacob in it (the password was jacobshere), and he said that the winning team's members would receive an item of their choice.  To do this, they would need to send screenshot proof, the item you wanted, and what gender it was for to jacob@musegames.com.  I have done so, and gotten nothing back yet.  I don't know if I'm just being impatient, but a little light shed on this would probably help clear up my confusion.  Thank you!

Question in title!  Also, who is your favorite character, what is your favorite weapon, and what is your favorite ability?  OCs are also welcome.

Q&A / Flying the Mobula: Wat Do?
« on: December 20, 2014, 10:13:49 pm »
So I want to start branching into different ships, and the Mobula looks interesting.  I know it has the best verticality, but rather slow to turn, and that it has heavy front focused firepower.  Other than point front at enemy, use the y(or is it x?) axis, and take long/midrange weps, what should I do to effectively utilize it?

The Lounge / Signs You've Been Playing Too Much GoIO
« on: December 12, 2014, 09:46:08 pm »
I'll start:

1. When you refer to left and right as port and starboard irl.
2. When you hear 'Loch' and think not of the Monster, but the ammo.
3. When you wish you could just hop in your Squid to fly home.

Q&A / General Piloting Tips
« on: December 11, 2014, 11:10:06 pm »
For the Goldfish, Pyramidion, and Junker especially.  Just general tips you might have to help me out.  I'd like to become a better pilot, and while I know most of the basics, (I think) knowledge is almost never bad.

Hit me with everything you got, guys. (And gals)

Feedback and Suggestions / Heavy Weapon Suggestions
« on: November 26, 2014, 11:08:01 pm »
Basically everyone throws out suggestions they have for new Heavy weapons.  I'll go first:

Magma Cannon: Basically a heavy Hades.  A long range, multipurpose weapon.  Maybe some side boilers, a magazine loaded from the back of the gun would be really cool.  Slow fire rate, applies 5 fire stacks (maybe less?) On hit, bursts of steam when fired and reloaded.  Rounds would look like Hades rounds, but longer, bigger, and they'd leave a trail of fire/black smoke.

Jupiter Field Cannon: Basically a heavy Mercury.  Would take a long range piercing weapon role, with a clip of one, average reload times, and a little projectile drop.  REALLY loud boom when firing, arm sized shell casing ejected when reloading.

Vulcan Heavy Repeating Cannon: Mix a Heavy Flak and a Gatling and you get this.  Dual rotary cannon, Shatter main damage.  Clip of 50-60, medium spread, maybe a little under the light gat.  DAKKA noise when firing, long reload time, heavy screen shake while firing.

Net launcher: Four holes with metal balls with balloons loaded in them, and in the cracks between, lays a net.  When fired, it would have a mine like arc, and a huge spread.  The balls, after reaching a set distance, would expand the balloons and tense the net.  Someone flies into it, they are dealt flamethrower speed damage to balloons and engines.

The Pit / Proper Procedure for Summoning RethBurn?
« on: November 19, 2014, 11:57:20 pm »
How does one accomplish this?  Is it through the use of necromantic arts?  A ritual chant?  Yelling RethBurn really loud?

Q&A / Ramming with a Goldfish
« on: November 17, 2014, 09:28:29 pm »
So I'm a noob here, and I like to run either the Goldfish or Pyramidion.  I won't bother talking about the Pyra, because I am here to ask about the viability of ramming with either a Hwachafish or Blenderfish.

With the 'Fishes main gun right up front, it is a risky move to an extent.  Up close is obviously desirable with a Blenderfish, and ramming makes a little bit more sense.  But with a Hwachafish, you want to be just a little bit further away, to get the little bit of spread required for a multiple component attack... unless the enemies armour is down.  This is where I usually ram, and to avoid the whole 'destroying your main gun' issue, I propose a simple, effective solution: come in with your balloon.  Hey, that spike on the fronts gotta be useful for something.

This negates the worry of busting your front gun, and increases your survivability by transferring damage to the balloon, which is pretty beefy.  If you really want, go for an uppercut.  After laying the smack down, just rise up, or if you really want pop hydrogen, and be right up in the bastard's face.  Impossible to miss.  Thoughts?
