I didn't know this was a thing, and I really should introduce myself.

I am Indreams. I began playing May 16th of 2014, and I am aspiring to be counted among the best pilots in game.

My friends tell me that I am boring, serious and grammatically correct.

I'm a student, and when the class isn't doing anything, I like to hang out on the forum. I hope that I can be a positive contribution to the community.

I usually play one to three games of GOIO everyday. If you get to fly with me, please say hello. I'd love to be your barely-competent pilot.

My friend told me that my avatar (Shaded Spectacle and Adventurer Hair) looks like Johnny Gat from Saints Row.

Should I change my ID to Johnny Gatman and troll by firing only the gatling?

You can achieve level 7 with like 10 matches. [...] Is leveling really slower with the new system?  I've found it to be the opposite.

I've been playing predominantly pilot since I joined GOIO May 16 of this year.
I've got few hundred matches, and I've been playing consistently (about two-three matches a day) since the lvl fix.

I don't know about the speed you get to level 7, but level 14 - 15 -16 has been taking me too long.

So, as a low level player, I'm against raising the novice cap.

My alternative would be graduating novices based on tutorials and matches completed.

I don't know if I am for segregation of the gaming community. The new rabble are clearly annoying, but the old rabble are also quite exclusive. I think I should friend more people in the community and utilize crew formation as much as possible.

Why not code so that the order doesn't matter?

I've a very limited computer programming skills, but often times, the order of elements in a set doesn't matter when comparing two sets.
So, if the load-out is a set in GOIO coding, it should be possible to make it so that the recommendation and the load-out doesn't mismatch if they have the same tools selected.
Sorry, I'm a novice programmer and I'm sorry if my understanding is simply wrong or terribly explained.


I guess what I'm saying is, the order of the load-out simply shouldn't matter with the recommendation.

Non-novice players will no longer be sent to novice matches, regardless of wait time. This means novice matches will no longer be turned into normal matches.

This I like a lot, (even though I'm not too far from novices, lol)

I personally like the design, but I'm with you.

I'm greedy, and I want a better design. Once steam workshop comes out, maybe we can design our own search screen and UI.

I don't mind most of the fixes. I think the matchmaker needs work, and this is a step in the general, right direction.

What I'd like to address is this.
When crews are made by the matchmaker, players barely know each other.
When that crew of strangers is placed into the crew-formation, there is no incentive to stick together, and most players leave.
Players than join another stranger crews. The cycle continues.

Guns of Icarus is a team game. Purpose of the matchmaker and the crew-formation should include easing player-to-player cooperation.

As the matchmaker stands now, it doesn't seem to achieve this purpose too well. The limit to the number of rematches is a limit to this purpose.

To be fair, game lobbies rarely rematch to more than three games, and player-to-player cohesion is marred by many other factors than match making. But the match maker is still a factor.

In conclusion, I think the matchmaker could use more improvement, and the three-match limit should be reviewed. Other than that, I'm glad I won't be placed in novice lobbies all the time.

I've gotten angry in games. Pretty recently too. Hamster knows. Btw, thank you for your sympathies.

On my bad days, I get on my pyramidion, moonshine, and ram everything until I feel better. My crew complains about Engine health and gun arcs, but I don't care.

If the game makes me mad, I take time off with books and stuff.

I've flown under a few captains and flown with variety of crews. Some are falling asleep on the gun, some are cracking jokes, some are just silent (the worst), and some are drunk (the best).

But I've yet to fly with a blatantly angry people.
