Does that mean we get to shoot adamantium sacks of power doorknobs as a special ammo?

This could be abused if allowed custom music, I mean, I'd ram myself in a wall if I had to listen to something like Anaconda over and over again. Maybe that's the point...
On the other hand, the idea of sonic weaponry is rather awesome.
Blasting people to Abney Park would be fun.

I'd like to see something like a steampunk circus. I'd be one heck of a mess with all the animals, though I wonder what kind of animals this world would have. Or if they had like steampunky robot ones. I imagine they would have other shows and entertainment too, I mean like bands with sketch actors at the very least.  Or maybe a mobile movie theater with cartoons and news.

Ehh, similar, but the one in co-op looks much bigger with more guns. Still, I'm all up with new ships, and even more excited for co-op.

But look at the bright side, new achievements.

"Kill 5 engineers while they repair" Achievement reward: Blood Red Dye

"Kill 10 gunners while they are shooting" Achievement reward: Bullet Proof Vest

"Kill 3 pilots with head shots." Achievement reward: Combat Helmet

It's like a crossbow ate a mobby with bigger guns.

Balloons would sink at first direct big crosshair hit, don't think engi's would like a needle and thread tool XD
Though I do find it amusing the thought of making some poor fool having to climb the balloon to fix it. Duct tape anyone?

Hmm, I didn't know that about the engines, that's actually pretty cool.

My fear would be the friendly fire. Heh, literal in some cases. Flame squid would be the new munker.

Tar cloud would have to be taken out entirely, though I once discussed the idea of how hilarious it would be if players could set tar clouds on fire to either get rid of the them or cause a flash fire behind them. Ooh, but how that would be used for trolling.

Ahhh, I see. Well, so far I really like the sound of it. I'm imagining some of the themes on it and can't help to smile.

I like Narwhal alot, def fits with the general feel I think.

Well, goldfish is one of the few if given a bigger balloon could work. But then you have the Spire, and the mobby would just flip over (I find the thought of flight tests rather amusing)

If going for more "realism" then would friendly fire be turned on for all guns? Now that's a chilling thought.

Oooh, I like. It's got  some blind spots, but has different firing arcs then the other ships. I like how you have some touches of lore there as well.

What kind of balloon would it have? Would it be sleek and framed like the goldfish or squid? Or would it be heavier armored like the pyra? What kind of sails would we see?

As for names, if keeping with the sea theme ,something like Mako/Isurus or Hammerhead?
Or perhaps something like Scythe...
Halberd, Verutum, Framea if going for weaponry like spears?
Sagaris or Mattock or Maul for types of axes? (The spitting maul has a very wedge shape head, and the word Maul just sounds intimidating)

*after hitting an enemy with a mine*
Alistair: Ha! Carro my engines, my gunner will shoot you a tasty cookie.
Sarabelle: Cookies!
AGoodMan: They're exploding with flavor!

Whoooa, someone needs a bit of chemspray, getting a little heated there.

And kindly sir, considering you are asking for a more realistic setting for an unrealistic game, no comment regarding real events qualifies as useless, especially when you compare to other comments that are on par (no comment about birds flying in engines, or the ships not even taking off in the first place* edit, ah there was one about the ships not taking off. Bird thing though, gilder made me smile).

As far as an entirely different game, you were the one suggesting taking out and changing features and mechanics. Its a steam punk/diesel punk setting. The genre itself isn't supposed to make realistic sense, that's part of the allure.

I think what you mean is a more "hardcore" version of the game, rather then "realistic". Because if you ask for "realistic" then you shall get what you asked, hence the many comments besides my own as such.

Well, I seem to recall a Blackadder episode featuring the flight pilot term "the 20 minuters". Being the average life expectancy for a pilot was 20 minutes...

No respawns...

Or when crashing into terrain is end game due to how long it would take to get in the air again (if you could).

Or if someone falls off the ship, you loose a crew member...

Stamina would have to be used to combat air sickness...or the weather like being cold and wet or heat exhaustion...

Or the huge amount of fuel that would need to be carried on board...which would catch fire at the slightest look...

Eh, I prefer my games to be games.

urgh, I don't want any stains on my uniform be anything other the coal, soot, oil or blood. I've got standards.

Although, depending on how sealed the barrel was for how long, that methane build up could cause some really interesting results.

@Lordfunpants

Ah, so you're the one that made this? I loved costume as soon as I saw it in the shop, it's been the default gunner outfit of choice for me since. Alistair and I plan on going to cons as a pair in character, we want to show off and spread the word as much as we can. Hopefully I'll have his done in a few months.

@Kamoba I'll have to dig around and find pictures of some of the things I've done since I changed computers and no longer have most of the files. Hopefully I'll have those soon. If not, I'll have to drag them all out and that'll take hours (I've got like 4 giant plastic bins of costume things, I may have no life XD)
