Soooo ignoring the last 5 posts which are basically spam, heatsink buff, do want!
Why buff something that is already a bit broken. If you load heatsink preemptively the fire suppression lasts forever while it's loaded which in itself is a bit game breaking.

I can attest to this. It happened to my Hydra team today in the SCS 25. It was absolutely brutal and frustrating once a brawling team gets in your spawn area. Basically lost us the game automatically after the initial engage. Who's bright idea was it to take away spawns?

This is my comment:

Good job Muse.
Your name is so appropriate for the situation right now.

Also the old spawns were miserly, but the current isn't much of an improvement. Still waiting for the day when dynamic spawns become a thing.

Q&A / Re: GoIO Lingo?

Well, it does have an icon of a shield...

That said, I did play a match with a little kid recently who kept saying "repair the shield" and it definitely started to grate on me.  >_<
"FIRE THE LAZAR CANNONS!" One full match of that will end your gaming for a full day. X_X

All the skill won't matter in the world if you always lose because you get placed within a team filled with levels less than 10 who are absolutely inexperienced.

I'm not sure if it's the constantly losing games that keeps sticking me down into rooms with lower levels or because it's the system being nonsensical. Yeah, one guy on the other team is a lvl 45 captain so I get put in there as an high level engineer because everyone else is low level. Balanced, right.

This is obvious but still confusing:

Hull/Armor - the repairable health

Hull/Permahull - the irreparable health

In context:

captain: HULL HULL HULL HULL HULL!!!!!! HUUUUUULLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!
->Which I take to mean "abandon ship"
It bugs me even more when the (usually very new) captain calls the hull armor "shields". This isn't the Galactic Federation dammit! And this most certainly ain't a STARSHIP. *fuming engines*

This is why I don't let people under level, say, 20, have a buffkit on my ships.  They get obsessed with their buffing 'chieves and you end up with nobody shooting.
I'm honestly surprised that some people care achieves enough to refuse to listen to their captain and bring that one wrong ammo, no fire control, or even repair tools sometimes. You can level up normally now dammit!

More the merrier... It does not look very pretty on the surface at the moment.

This is one of the main religious schisms of GOI, there are a few epic-sized threads about it. Most people agree you need a gunner on really difficult guns like lumberjack, and don't need one on really simple guns like gatling. It all depends on ship and gun loadout.
Even to that you'll find people who argue that one single ammo type and a buff hammer is all you need for virtually every single gun in the game.

My opinion is, if it's not competitive you are free to do however you like. Cooperation is important though and the captain/pilot is the leader. Following orders is important. You could always go to a different ship if you do not wish to do as your captain tells you. Me personally, I will tell them my opinion and what I would do if I feel that what they're telling me to do is bad but I will follow orders nevertheless. The captain is the one who makes the final decisions on the ship.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Problems with matchmaking
« on: November 01, 2014, 11:49:20 pm »
Personally I feel like much of the problem is from trying to retain some features from what the lobbies used to be like while at the same time moving ahead with matchmaking. Some features just don't work together. On its own a change could be an improvement but in conjuction with another change it seems to cause more problems than fix.

In my opinion, if players could set options like whether a lobby should be timed or not, whether a match will be counted towards matchmaking mmr and not be available to the matchmaking queue, and have access to (and see) all lobby rooms which does not accept players from the matchmaking queue then there would be more freedom for players to set map options in general.  With improved flexibility and options players could be less angrier at the rigid matchmaking system and choose to go a non-matchmaking room instead. An experienced player could invite a group of new players to a room that is not part of matchmaking to teach without having to worry about timers, mmr, and problems with matchmaking itself.

Changes are good on paper but the way it has been first implemented is causing many other, perhaps unintended, issues.

Website and Forum Issues / Re: Clan tag under name doesn't seem to update

I will leave it on for a day and see if it updates. Then I will contact support. Logging out and back in on its own doesn't change a thing.

Joining and leaving a clan doesn't seem to change it so far. I've tried creating a clan and temp joining a friend's clan but still no change. Is there a certain requirements to the numbers of days I need to be in a Clan???

Somehow I feel like he's trying to make a joke or it's an inside thing within certain circles. Best not pursue it further...
