I will have another meeting for EU people who are interested. Please give me a time that would work for most EU. I was trying to keep EU in mind with the previous time, however it seems its still awkward for them.

Hello all! As you may have heard, the first ever Guns of Icarus MLG tournament is in the process of being built right now. If you would like to participate in the running of the tournament, we will be having a mandatory TeamSpeak meeting August 16th at 5pm EST. The following positions are in need to be filled: Refs, Scoring/quality assurance, graphic/art design, executive assistant, public relations and general admins/mods. If you are interested in any of these slots, feel free to contact me at gkconnor91@gmail.com. TeamSpeak information will be given out by 13 August via email. If you are interested in a role(s), however can not make the time due to circumstances out of your control, please feel free to contact me. This is for extreme circumstances only. If you have an idea for a role that could be useful, that is not already mentioned, feel free to contact me as well.

Safe Skies,
Gabriel "Aleyeska" Connor

P.S. Dont be afraid to volunteer for positions and think that you will not be able to participate in the actual event. That is an issue that we will discuss in the meeting and will hopefully be easily catered.

Youre definitely right there. Matchmaking will keep the games chugging along. This is just something for people to think about. :)

When I look at big games such as League or StarCraft 2, I think of two things, in terms of publicity. 1.)They are well advertised through their competitions. Now, we are already making progress, being recently picked up by MLG and having some kick-ass tourneys on the way. 2.) The plethora of channels on twitch of people streaming. Im not talking about competitions, necessarily, we already have that nailed down pretty good with the combined efforts of our seasoned casters. Im talking about us, streaming ourselves playing the game, talking about the game and, most of all, having a good time.  Streaming is super easy. Make an account at twitch.tv. Download OBS (open broadcast software) or some other form of free software. Then its just a matter of setting up your camera/microphone/overlays to fit the image you want. Here is a 10 minute YouTube vid I found explaining the process, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBIcliA9U0o. For this game to grow, the population needs to grow. This is a great way to show off the game and get people interested. If you would like to see how I approach streaming the game, you can check out my stream at www.twitch.tv/aleyeska. Also check out Rob and Dan, Imagine42, Fourth Oracle, and PuppyFur's stream (sorry if I missed anyone) to see how they go about streaming. If you have any questions, feel free to message me here or in game :D

Hello everyone! You may have heard about the new charity tournament that is being planned for the mid to late October time-frame, whether through the game or if you tuned in to the last Dev fire side chat. Well, we are in need of someone with art/graphic design experience so that way we can make logos/overlays/etc. If you are interested in helping out, you can email me at gkconnor91@gmail.com or message me in game. Safe Skies, everyone :D

Hello everyone. Gabriel "Aleyeska" Connor here. If you have not already seen, around 10am EST almost everyday I will be doing a training lobby. We will discuss ship builds, strategies, mechanics and other aspects of the game. I will be posting in global chat when the lobby gets started. The lobby will usually be named "Learn the Game! w/Aleyeska." Safe skies everyone!

General Discussion / Re: Music in Lobby
« on: July 15, 2014, 08:46:26 pm »
I think music in game/lobby is fine, as long as no one has a problem with it. It provides a fun atmosphere that allows people to express their creativity, which I am all for, given that our community already shows an interest in the artistic by playing a game so artistic itself. However, the moment someone starts becoming annoyed and asks the person to stop, they should. Everyone is entitled to a fun game environment, as long as it does not interfere in the fun of someone else. I have talked to a couple members of the MUS (the clan that you were talking about) before, and they are group of genuinely good people. They never play anything offensive, and they are more than willing to compromise. I dont think we should be too harsh on people who dont do anything to hurt the game.

You never know. I think league is boring as hell, but roughly 10000 people a day don't think so
