  -- Proud Eagle
  -- X Cannons

  -- Carnival Tricorne (Hat, M)

  -- The Winged Panama (Hat, M & F)
  -- Pirate Bicorn (Hat, M)

- Game Grumps voice packs:
In addition to RubberNinja’s voice sets, we’ll now have voices of Commander Holly and Egoraptor.  All proceeds from the voice sets will go to the charities of their choices!

- Ability to password practice lobbies.
- Made the 'Enter' key attempt to join at password screen
- If captain chooses a spawn point, the crew can see it.
- Switch labels between 'Ready'/'Not ready' on the Ready button (depending on the status)
- Improved spotting efficacy, particularly around cloud edges
- Improved effects for component destruction: audio is more distinct, new visuals
- Added effects to engines indicating an active pilot skill
- List other players' outfits when checking out him / her (avatar preview screen)

- Stamina:
All stamina effects are only active when the stamina key (default: left shift) is being held down and stamina gauge has not been depleted.  All effects will stop when the key is released or stamina gauge is depleted.  When stamina is active, it will deplete the stamina gauge.  Stamina gauge will refill over time.  Gunners will get a small bonus refill if they destroy components while Engineers will get a small bonus refill if they rebuild components.  Everyone on the ship will get a bonus refill when their ship gets a kill.
-- Pilot: +125% ship thrust , -20% longitudinal drag,  +150% climb force, +150% descent force, -20% vertical drag, +15% angular drag.
-- Gunner: -25% reload time, +30% rotation speed, +20 degrees yaw arcs (not percent!), +40% pitch arcs
-- Engineer: +85% movement speed and jump height
-- Commentary: The impetus behind Stamina was to offer additional choices, and we done that by further distinguishing each role’s responsibility with unique abilities.  Not only will this introduce new crew loadouts but also new skill loadouts too.  A Pilot may use Stamina in conjunction with similar skills to increase their effectiveness or choose to carry a different set of tools to grant additional tactical options during a match.  The Gunner will need to decide when to use Stamina, either during a reload to speed up reload times or when shooting a gun to augment firing arcs and rotation speed.  For an Engineer, getting to crucial components in the nick of time can now be augmented by improved movement speed.

- Gunner HUD improvements
- Added "title" icons (both unlocked and unknown) and quest icons pertaining to underdog achievements [Details on “underdog achievements” below]
- “None” icon for decals, figureheads, themes

Changes

- Disable popup entirely in match, but add chat line indicating that an invitation was received so players can check tray if desired
- Move Steam overlay notifications' place to upper right corner
- Practice gets combat music
- Match options now saved for the session
- Friend count cap at 1000 (does not affect friend count of current friend list)

- Match system changes:
-- Rematch cap removed.  Rematch vote now a distinct step of end-match, and rematch can occur with 60% majority in a given match
-- Underdog:  In the cases of pre-match team balance and win rate probability disparity exceeding a threshold, the underdog team will receive a label and can earn achievements and titles for playing the match.  The loss count in Progress would be forgiven, but of course player rating would be updated.
-- In Custom Game, if concurrent players not in matches drop below 40, the match list will now show all available matches.
-- Crew slot now can only be crew and not pilot
-- Custom Game match list logic improvement to improve balance
-- Crew forms of multiple ships now has the option to split up without redoing crewform in the event that they waited too long
-- Solo queuing novice players will not be placed as captain in normal matches
-- Player post match return to single ship instead of team in crew form and automatically requeued

Balance

- Flare Gun
-- Arming range of 200m, flare will not light until after 200m to reduce chance of lighting a cloud in front of your own ship and revealing yourself
-- Fire stack application moved from AoE to Direct to ensure that Flare can still apply fire stacks at any range.

- Flamethrower
-- Changed hit logic: will not completely penetrate ship and will instead stop when the center of its sphere collider hits the target ship.
-- Anything within the sphere collider’s radius will have the chance of fire stacks being applied.  Increased fire stack chance to 22% (from 18%).
-- Commentary: The Engineer repair game comes down to time to complete action and number of actions that need attention at any given moment.  Previously, the Flamethrower would penetrate the entire ship and potentially set all components on fire.  For experienced players, this was not an issue due to expert use of Chemical Spray.  However, for the less experienced this created an extremely debilitating state of play (even causing us to remove Flamethrower from Novice) in both psychological and systemic ways—too many actions needing attention and too many things taking damage over time.  Now that the Flamethrower will not penetrate, this will decrease the number of things needing attention and hopefully give Engineers some room to breathe.  Coupled with an improvement to the Extinguisher, reactive play should be more manageable.  With Engineer Stamina in mind, Flamethrower now places more stacks of fire on components.  This places emphasis on the time aspect of the Engineer game where Engineer Stamina can be used in.

- Extinguisher
-- Increased fire resistance time to 4s (from 3s)
-- Decreased repair cooldown time to 2s (from 3s)
  -- Developer Commentary: mentioned above

- Heavy Carronade
-- Increased jitter to 6 degrees (from 4)
  -- Pitch arcs reduced to -20 to 10 (from -30 to 15)
-- Reload time increased to 7.5s (from 5.5)
  -- Range reduced to 400m (from 425m)
-- Direct damage increased to 17.5 (from 17)
-- AoE damage reduced to 10 (from 18)
-- Commentary: In short, the HC was low risk and high reward.  It was clear that it needed some tweaking.  Pitch arcs and reload time were adjusted with new Gunner Stamina in mind.  When using Gunner Stamina, the values revert back to their previous values (or very close to).  The effective range decrease will introduce additional risk but provide the same reward of 2 vanilla shots to kill the balloon.  The AoE shatter damage decrease addresses another complaint that the weapon is effective at not only balloon lockdown but also component lockdown.  For example, if the target ship’s engines are destroyed then there is no means for them to escape.  This is problematic since the chance for the target ship to recover from a balloon lock is slimmer if engines or weapons are destroyed as well.

- Carronade
  -- Direct damage reduced to 6 (from 8 )
-- The adjustment to direct flechette damage now means that more than one clip is required to destroy a balloon.  Compared to HC, the Carronade is slower at destroying balloons but is still quite effective against mechanical components and since it has more shots per clip than the HC, Carronade can actually destroy more components per clip compared to HC.  Despite requiring a reload to destroy the balloon, don’t forget that there is Gunner Stamina that can augment this in addition to the fact that Carronade is a Light weapon (more slot spaces).  With the distinctions between HC and Carronade, each weapon should have clearer advantages over the other.

- Heavy Clip
-- Reduced jitter reduction to -70% (from -100%)
-- Commentary: In hindsight, -100% jitter likely wasn’t the optimal choice as it collapses several decision spaces.  In light of the Carronades, it meant that any adjustment to their jitter wouldn’t matter since Heavy Clip would remove all of it.  Keep in mind that Heavy Clip, even with -70% jitter, is extremely powerful. In the case of the HC, the new jitter of 6 would be reduced to 1.8 degrees with new Heavy Clip.  Even with a 1.8 degree jitter, the HC will be able to get most of its shot onto a balloon at 400m.  For other weapons like Gatling, Light Flak, and Hwacha, their jitters are extremely small to begin with so even with new Heavy Clip you’ll be seeing new jitter values in the range of 0.375 to 1.2 degrees.  The Hwacha can still take out a swath of components at 400m+ range.

- Hwacha
-- Reduced jitter to 4 degrees (from 6)
-- Developer Commentary: related to Heavy Clip change

- Reload Mechanic
-- When a new ammo is being reloaded into a gun, you can step off the gun and the gun will continue reloading the ammo that you intended to put in.  You no longer have to be at the gun for the last second of the reload to load a different ammo type.  Like before, you will still be able to change which ammo you’d like to reload up until the very last second without forcing another reload.  This means any player can run to every gun on a ship and load a new ammo type into each gun without having to sit there for the reload cycle.

- Wilson's Notes and Evadne’s Reports default unlocked and have no XP reward
- Sequenced class achievements XP rewards restructured to reward less at the beginning and more at the end.  The total XP rewarded for completing an entire sequence is roughly the same as before (give or take a hundred due to rounding error).
-- Commentary: We’ve received several reports that new players are completing Novice too quickly.  After diving into the statistics into where new players are getting their XP from, we confirmed that the bulk of the XP was from various achievements.  Some were from the notes, which are very easy to unlock.  We’ve unlocked all of those since they’re useful information to have from the beginning, but we’ve also removed their XP rewards.  Furthermore, players were getting the lower sequence class achievements fairly quickly as well.  We’ve re-tuned the XP curve on achievements to an exponential curve rather than linear.  Previously, XP rewarded = sequence * 1000.  In other words, Sequence 1 rewarded 1000 XP and Sequence 2 rewarded 2000 XP.  This is a lot for lower level players.  This change will not affect the XP you’ve already accumulated but will affect all future achievements you unlock.  Hopefully this will be sufficient to prevent players from leaving Novice too soon.

- Class selection in character customization UI no longer changes your currently selected class.

New Content:
- Minotaur Heavy Cannon: New support heavy weapon that knocks back enemy ships!  Use to help your friendly airships keeps enemy airships out of gun arc or to prevent rams.  Has arming time, Primary Damage is piercing, Secondary AoE is shatter.  Fires like a Carronade where each ‘buckshot’ causes knockback.  Knockback is equally distributed across both Primary and Secondary damages.  The farther from a ship’s center of mass you shoot, the more ‘spin’ you will add to that ship.
- Workshop support for voice commands
- Game Grumps RubberNinja Voice Packs in game store.
Ross has lent his amazing voice talent to record 2 sets of voice commands (varied by how much they stay on script :D) for us.  They are available through the in game store.  All proceeds from the sales of the voices will go to Child’s Play, Ross’s designated charity.
- New Workshop items (Only a subset of new Workshop items that people submitted are presently integrated into the game due to a 1-2 weeks delay in Steam’s creator revenue sharing feature. Charity Tournament Update!

The battles are done and the dust is starting to settle. So far we’ve raised $15,848 for four great causes.  If you’ve like to see the battles, check out the teams, and check out their charities: click here!
We’ll keep you up to date on how much we’ve raised for charity!

Changes:
- Novice levels have been changed to level 1-7.
- Non-novice players will no longer be sent to novice matches, regardless of wait time. This means novice matches will no longer be turned into normal matches.
- When novice players wait in queue for more than 2 minutes, they will have the option to join normal matches. If they do, they may get into any normal match. If they don't, they may need to wait, but will not face non-novice players.
- Matchmaker will now value balanced matches more, as well as some additional balance enforcements. Players will be less likely to be sent to unbalanced matches, unless we deem that they have waited too long.
- System made matches (including custom matches that recruit from queue) will have an upper limit of 3 rematches, which will down by per rematch. If there are no more rematches, the end match vote will be replaced by an alert message, and everyone will return to lobby as crew forms. This will give the queue more people to draw from while still allowing players to rematch against great opponents.
- Player level in chat message will be the max level (of 3 classes), rather than current class level.

Fixes:
- Some base system changes, which would allow the bounty event to show up again.
- Bug fix that caused captain in queue to be sent to crew slot or to a full lobby.
- Teaching achievement 8 was bugged, players should now be able to to track and earn "play X minutes with level 1-12 players" now.
- Ship theme objects stuck in the air randomly are now gone.
- Wrong language in Andrew Howell (Fyraxis) voice pack has been fixed
- Image for Desert Scrap has been fixed
- Custom match list scroll bar now scales proportionally to number of listed matches.
- Spotting visibility check reverted to less restrictive 1.3.7 behavior (yes it’s still occasionally weird)

Our Charity Webpage is live and you can keep up to date on the casters records and winnings for some great causes.

With the introduction of Matchmaking we fundamentally changed how the game is played. We appreciate all the feedback we received and will continue doing our best to improve the system in every way we can. If you’d like to share your thoughts and experiences the best way to contact us is by email at feedback@musegames.com.

Changes:
-Your current level is now linked to your name in chat so you can show off your level in global, clan, and match chat.
-Match levels are no longer shown except for the ship you are currently on. Since player level doesn’t often show a good snapshot of player skill nor balance; to reduce confusion we’ve stopped showing player levels on other ships as the system bases balance on your hidden glicko rating.
-Rematch will now always scramble from matchmade matches.  We’ve added back in the ability to swap ships between sides so each team has to agree to refight the same battle.

Fixes:
-Velcro is gone!
-Changes pilot, gunner, and engineer to crew and captain to reflect ship roles better in matchmaker.
-Low quality textures on allied ships on match end screen.
-Invisible wall on Canyon.
-Misplaced wind on low altitude in 3v3 Firnfeld.
-Unable to see allies on respawn map.
-Ghost ship on map
-Ship unable to spawn
-Ships spawning in the same location inside of one another
-Match start timer disappearing
-Win/Lose streak display bug
-Can now click on player names in crew form.
-Arbitrary insta-gib rams removed
-Smoke particles have returned
-Achievements linked to Water Hazard and Fight on Firnfeld now work on 2v2 and 3v3
-text no longer overlaps if too many friends are in the same match
-Gunning AI crew no longer disappearing on Squid

3. Sunday Community Skirmish
Info:  The 25th week of Sunday Community Skirmish happens this week and getting in is as simple as signing up on the forum page. This event has had some amazing battles and brought a bunch of competitive teams into the forefront of the competitive scene. Keep an eye out for the weekly sign up thread!

Features:
1.  New Match System
The long awaited new match system is finally here! After months of testing, iterating, collecting and implementing your feedback, it’s finally ready for release. In the new match system, it now takes a more active role in placing players into matches quickly and in a more balanced fashion. Captains can recommend loadouts to crew. Crew form is readily available to help crews and teams of friends enter a match much quicker. Players who refer to play entire matches with people they know can still create and join custom games. The match list is now centers around friends, and lists all the matches (both yet to start and in progress) that your friends are in. The new system retains the best of the old match system while addressing some of major issues.

2.  New Progression System and new level cap
Leveling is now freed from achievements. From now on, you’ll level based on experiences in match and not by grinding and farming achievements. Stats are better organized and displayed to give you more interesting, fun, and relevant information. Rewards are also better organized and unlocked in “sets.”  The level cap will also be expanded to level 45, for all existing players their levels and achievements are transferred to the new system putting them roughly three times their current level.  Despite the new focus on experience, achievements are of course still there, and will still unlock items as well. All the rewards have been reset and you can redeem them again!

3.  New tutorial flow for first time players
With the updated Basic Tutorial covering the keys of communications, component repair/rebuild, and hull armor/perma-hull, we finally feel comfortable enough to direct first time player flow through basic tutorial.  In this update, first time players will not only see the welcome screen but will also be taken to the basic tutorial (skippable) for a few minutes to practice a few basic keys of the game.

4.  Moderation tool improvements

Release Notes / 1.3.6 Hotfix 2 Patch Notes
« on: June 12, 2014, 08:07:17 am »
Patched on 2014/6/12, your game client version should be 1.3.6 (427)

Client
- Fixed fires creating too many light sources (should be a major performance improvement on low-end machines in particular)
- Fires emit fewer particles when Light Quality is set to Low
- Fixed some text issues/typos in tutorials
- Fixed a bug that could cause the game client to crash in certain terrain collision situations on Linux
- Fixed a bug that caused broken UI when accepting a match invitation while already in a pregame lobby
- Fixed a bug that could cause balloon decals to appear “deflated” on respawn
- Fixed a shader bug that caused decals to sometimes be visible through clouds
- Fixed a shader bug that caused the Royal theme to sometimes be visible through clouds
- Fixed a shader bug that could cause nearby clouds to fade away when viewed through the Spyglass (or high-zoom guns)
- Shadow options are no longer reset by entering the ship preview screen in any of its forms (customizer, store, lobby preview)
- Fixed a bug that could cause the Sandbox command UI to appear instead of the game type’s UI

Lobby
- Fixed: crew formation considering almost all matches ineligible (and either not showing them or creating a new one, depending on if you pressed Match List or Quick Join)
- Fixed: crew formations showing up in the match list
- Fixed a bug that allowed non-novice loadouts to be used in novice matches
- Fixed some bugs with clans and persistence that could cause lost data

Server Stability
- Practice and Tutorial matches now start in a selected server region, defaulting to the one with lowest ping (formerly they always started on US servers)
- Fixes to several cases where servers might not create or clean up matches correctly (contributing to general load issues)

Networking
- Fixed a networking prioritization issue that could cause certain messages (notably hit events and "snap character to position" events) to be lost or delayed for long periods of time.
- Fixed a networking bug that could cause all position updates to be lost for several seconds at a time under loaded network conditions
- A number of small improvements to networking stability and bandwidth usage
- Fixed a networking bug that could cause significant traffic spikes for a period of time after respawning

The networking fixes in particular should cover a number of strange bugs: "lag spikes", "missing hit markers", "falling through ship/map", "ships freezing and then catching up", etc. While we can't guarantee perfect results in the face of the vagaries of the Internet, it should be greatly improved over the original 1.3.6.

- Community System:
There is now a Community section in game accessible from the header.  This section has quite a few new shiny things in it.  The most prominent is the Clan system.  From now on, you’ll be able to create your clan as well a permanent clan name and clan page.  You will be able to manage your clan by promoting officers and accept new clan members.  You’ll also have demote and kick functions for your clan, so use wisely.  Your clan can be given commendations by other players, and this will determine your clan’s visibility in the clan list.  Your clan will now also have it’s own chat channel and members list alongside Friends and Party.  The leaderboard for the competitive season in game is now also available, and you can see your new shiny profile page, with a character viewer to boot.  All upcoming community events will be displayed in Community, and you can favorite any of them for your clan page.  As events become available, you can join them (if permissions allow) directly from event list.

New Profile page

- Ship Customization:
The ability to decorate your ships is finally here!  There is a new section in the Store called Ship, where you can get deck themes, figureheads, balloon decals, and paint colors for your ships.  Some of the decoration items will also be unlockable through your Progression.  After you get the items, you can go to the new Ship screen to decorate with them.  The new Ship screen is also more streamlined, with bigger ship previews, where you can simply drag to rotate and zoom in and out.  Gun slot customization is also cleaner with less clutter.

New deck themes, figureheads, balloon decals, and paint colors for ships
New Store section for ship decorations
New and streamlined Ship customization page with enhanced ship preview (drag to zoom and rotate ship)

- Updated Tutorials:
The tutorials have been updated to cover more of the essential elements of the game.  A basic tutorial allows you to explore the different components on the ship - helm, guns, and repair points - and trigger tutorials for each component.  The basic tutorial also instructions and reminds about all the communication tools, such as voice chat, text chat, and voice commands.  It shows how guns are used in tandem or complements.  The class specific tutorials then dive into more specifics about the individual components, skills, and mechanics of each player class.

- Notification alerts
- Stopping animations
- Additional hooks for balance data analysis
