Release Notes / Re: Release 1.4.0 notes

I know this might be a bit late, but the Minotaur has been in Wilson's notes from the beginning, you just need to complete the achievement (shoot an enemy 28 times with it) to unlock the notes, just like every other weapon.

Gameplay / Re: 1.4.0 Pyra. Too much stick?
« on: February 26, 2015, 02:49:22 pm »
Its time to be sneaky and use all 4 guns. By that, perhaps for large maps youl want long range front. Or disabling front for short range and then side weapons gat mortar when you get close?

I don't want to long range in a ship that is all hull and dies to a single buffed Lesmok Typhon round.

Gun buffs last 90s and take only 7 hits (~4.5s) to buff, rather than 9 hits (~6s).

General Discussion / Re: AN OPEN LETTER: "Return to crew form or rematch?"
« on: February 11, 2015, 05:36:43 pm »
If I recall correctly (and unless its been changed), the option defaults to return to crew form, so its less the novices voting for it because they don't want to be in a lobby, and more that they simply don't know that they need to click "rematch" if they desire to return to the lobby.

Hmm... do they increase fun? Zipping around the ship is a bit fun, but being shot from nearly directly above with a carronade isn't fun at all.

World / Re: Card Games

It's an interesting question... Texas Holdem (for example) wasn't popularized until the latter half of the 20th century (though it was invented around the turn of the century), so I wonder if it would have spread in a different form, or been lost entirely.

As for the cards, tarot cards were often used as playing cards (partially to hide their true purpose from religious authorities), and I wonder if the suits pictured aren't based on that. The upright triangle corresponds to the element of fire, the suit of Wands, and the suit of Clubs. The inverted triangle represents water/Cups/Hearts. The leaves (if that's what they are) could correspond to earth/Pentacles/Diamonds. Finally, the hexagon could be water OR fire, or Air/Swords/Spades, or it could be an unknown 5th suit for some as-yet undeveloped game, as the six-pointed star represents Aether.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Balloons with Health
« on: February 06, 2015, 02:22:11 pm »
Reduce the damage modifier for balloons, reduce balloon health to scale. (yes this also scales with the helm tools which deal flechette damage)
Balloons break in the same number of shots but can be rebuilt and repaired to full health/functionality faster.

As a solid example, you could set balloon health to 595, and reduce Fletchette and Fire damage multipliers vs Balloon to .75, to maintain a similar ratio of damage-to-health. At this amount, the Barking Dog, Hellhound, and Lumberjack would still be able to destroy a balloon in 5, 2, and 3 unbuffed shots of standard ammo, respectively, balloons will have 75% health upon rebuild, and balloons could be rebuilt in (I think) 6 spanner hits, or ~4.2s instead of ~7s. Other multipliers vs Balloon would need to be reduced by ~50% as well to maintain balance.
