Feedback and Suggestions / Player levels displayed wrong on the forum.
« on: March 25, 2015, 07:45:33 am »
Hello, here is a problem, existing since the new leveling system implemented. Newer player accounts get their levels displayed properly, while veterans still have their old levels, me included.

Please, do not propose relogging to forum ( I already did that) and writing to feedback@musegames.com (I am pretty sure Keyvias will not fix every single old players manually).

Does this problem exists massively?

The Lounge / National issues.
« on: November 05, 2014, 06:51:06 am »
Hey there.

I love how this community brings up together people from different parts of the world. However, I often meet up with questions/stereotypes about my country I don't really want to talk about. I suggest , if you have such desire, list the topics related to your nation, which you'd prefer to never be touched in conversation.

I shall start with myself. I am Russian and I don't want to discuss following topics :

- Ukrainian situation. I am always in for healthy political debate, but here I am just biased(As lot of other Russians). My family been touched by that conflict, and I don't really want to spend evenings proving anything to people, who see the problem from media. If you want to clear things out for yourelf, make a visit, otherwise it is not to be discussed.

- Vodka. Historically, alcoholism taking out more  Russians than any other disease. I avoid alcohol and not enjoying discussions about it.

- Emancipation. As a majority of Russian women, I come from traditional family. We believe men and women have different role in society. Yes, we can talk about equal rights for both sexes... but you will not enjoy my opinion on this.

If anyone else have their nation-related topics they wouldn't like to discuss, I welcome you to tell about it. Let our community be more comfortable.

Feedback and Suggestions / Moderate the game's community hub
« on: September 04, 2014, 12:01:56 pm »
As I had some expierence uploading artworks to the Guns of Icarus community hub in steam, I met with an upsetting thing going on. Currently, the artwork page is loaded with tons of images and drawings which are not related to the game. Is the steam cimmunity hub moiderated by the game dev's or is it moderated by steam itself?

Could we, as community members, do something to clean up the artworks page in steam?

The Gallery / The storm
« on: September 03, 2014, 01:30:31 pm »
Finally finished this one.
I was taking part in an arts contest outside GoI comnmunity and decided to draw an airship in storm. I chose squid as base, cause it is most recognisable as an airship for people who don't play GoIO , and made some modifications - simplified the hull, moved helm on front, made the entire ship smaller. The lighthouse reference was taken from To the Moon game.

Community Events / Changing to Bo3
« on: August 04, 2014, 08:16:57 am »
As I know, to be integrated into MLG, we need to change regular league to "best of 3" system, instead of current "best of one". Here I'd love to present my idea of how it could look like.

First of all, best of three matches will consume significantly larger amount of time, but the timezone overlap is quite narrow. If we want to keep the event's lengh with approximately same amount of teams participating, we have to split up to regional timezones.
On this picture I compare current system and possible Bo3 system, when we move from 2 random divisions, playing and streamed at the same time, to geographically-organised divisions streamed one after another, overlaping in "cross-zone"  period, when cross-divisional matches can be hosted. Every "best of 3" set is given a limit of 1,5 hours.

However, this system leads to several problems.
  • will significantly split up players from different timezones. Most european players won't be able to watch later american streams, and on the earliest matches streaming chat will be almost dead.
  • it loads up the administration with additional time. These people spend time on organising events for us, and we can't demand them to work a full 8-hours day on their weekend for our leisure.
  • no post-show talk, which gave the tourney streams a festive touch. I am dead serious here, I am convinced that this has become important part of the league, and we can't just throw it off
  • Every 2 new teams will add a week to the event's duration.

Another idea is to split the games into Saturday and Sunday.

Benefits:
  • More flexibility to teams number
  • More tolerant to timezones
  • Less time in a day consumed by organisers
  • Room for Australian/Asian players, who could join european division if they want late night time, or American, if they'd prefer earliest morning

Flaws
  • NO SUNDAY EVENT (greatest disadvantage)
  • Administration and streamers waste 2 weekends instead of one on this
  • Poor European people who need to wake up early for work/scool/etc

The team should define their regional preference during sign-up. If there would be uneven amount of european and american team, a team would be offered to volunteer to take other region's division and given a priority in later/earlier times when scheduled.

I really hope that publishing this does not breaks forum rules... too much.

The Docks / Searching for gunning lessons
« on: May 26, 2014, 08:12:31 am »
Hello there.
As I dream to improve my  gunning skills, I search for wise guidance in this area. I need regular training with person, who can exactly explain me, where I am failing, and how to improve it.
I am currently interested in improving skills on hades/heavy flak/ artemis sniping,/lumberjack (order from highest to lowest priority)

I know, that teaching is hard work , and it must be rewarded. I can pay back in several ways, which are :

- artworks. My skils are so-so, but sometimes I can make something really good.

- steam games/software. I can gift you game or several games on your choice.

- Cash. I am not sure if it is legal in other countries, but I can make a paypal transfer. Price is a topic to discuss.

Community Events / Absinthe Monday
« on: May 12, 2014, 02:46:19 am »
Good morning, Aeronauts.

I don't know, how is it for you, but to me Mondays always provoke a splin.

So much work ahead. So much fun on weekend behind. Isn't that depressing?

I have my own methods to fight the splin. First one is Absinthe, secod one is flying with friends. So it comes to that, a private lobby for cosy casual play with a slight competitiveness. I think I shall count ship kills. I think, I can make a picture of most dangerous assasin ships' crew.

So here it is. Absinthe Monday. Meet you today  in GoI , at 21 pm CET

You can sign up to book some places

Feedback and Suggestions / Login server problems
« on: May 03, 2014, 01:20:33 pm »
It is not a secret, that the problems with logging into game become more and more seious from week to week.

Previously, I expierenced this problem only on sales, where there were a lot of people in game online.

But now, amount of people online is regular, and login server crushes every single weekend.

According to this, I would like to know, if there is anything, which could change the current situation.

Community Events / Friday evening 3v3
« on: April 25, 2014, 05:39:23 am »
Good time of the day, aeronauts!

I am glad to invite you for a friday's evening 3v3 matches.

What is it?

A casual match, set in private lobby, entrance by invitation.  3v3 format, possible to evolve into 4v4. The password will be transfered through steam, my account is Tanya Phenole, same as ingame nickname.

When is it?

Today, on 25 April, at 22:00  CET \\ 16:00 EST \\ 0:00 MSK

Who is participating?

Currently, we have CsM clan,  Rydr and BFS as possible participants (approximately 2-3 ships)

How to sign up:

You can sign up though this topic and make sure you have me on steam friendlist, to get the lobby passwords.
You can sign up as a whole ship , as a group of crews, or as a single person. Singups are accepted by the whole time untill the start, and afterwards as well, as people drop in and out. After the matches beginning signups for whole ships are harder to fullfill, than for single crews.

Which maps are planned to be :

If you have any 3v3 maps achievent to accomplish, I will be glad to help you with them. Just write me on steam, which maps your crew would prefer today, and I will rate them  by popularity.
Currently we are going to start with Desert Scrap.
