I know, that's why I didn't give it. We're not in it anyway, until the rules change.

What rules do you want changed?

If scramble makes it through it should be a "vote to scramble" option.

I mean that the tournament coordinators have yet to contact me formally. I keep getting updates via other officers of the Gentlemen.

Oh wow, do you have your personal contact information listed on the scrimmage google doc? I think invites went out either on steam or through e-mail, so if no information was listed that might have been the only way to get an invite to you directly.

As far as I know these are the clans that were invited, (might be wrong) https://gunsoficarus.com/competitive-scene/competitive-scene-standings/

Who all accepted and will be attending however I do not know.

Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback!
Ok, here are some questions for you guys:
1.  If a well organized, or "stacked," team moves and create another lobby, would you consider that to be a form of match balance itself?  Why or why not?  And what do you guys think would be the result of a stacked team leaving a match to create or join another?
2.  If we do create another type of match called "Competitive" in addition to Novice and regular, how should we definite the level criteria for entry or qualification into that match?
3.  If we make Scramble an option for match creator, what type(s) of players do you think would create scrambled matches?

2.  If we do create another type of match called "Competitive" in addition to Novice and regular, how should we definite the level criteria for entry or qualification into that match?

I don't think it's really needed if you call it competitive, since some clans (AK for example) take in new blood and train them. So adding a level req for a competitive lobby would only be detrimental. A simple notifier that these lobbies are for organized teams, and that those coming in at random are likely to be rolled on repeatedly should suffice.

To get back on topic, because the communication for this tournament is poor: the Gents are not participating. I don't know how many times I have to say that. You can ask the Mad Hatters if they want to (if that's allowed).

Personally I don't understand what you mean, all of the information on the end season tournament has been in the scrimmage rules since before I even started playing, it always has been there. Anyone who actively took part in the scrimmage season should have known this was coming this month and what was happening and how it was going to happen. Can you please clarify what you mean by communication so that maybe a situation like this can be avoided in season 2?

If you truly believe that is all we do vs having randoms on our boats from time to time, then you are a bit short sighted. You are also naive to think that all of those players are willing to accept our advice when we provide it. Less then half of them in my most recent experiences have the want to learn more, let alone communicate in any fashion whatsoever.

A great game community needs people who want to play the game for what it is, not say "ready up" every 10 seconds, leave matches when they die once,  and ignore the help we try to give.

Scrambling the boats by force isn't going to solve anything, unless the number of lobbies waiting to play was too low.

As much as it pains me there is too much truth in this post, so few new players are willing to be taught the game. Most look at the loadout system as if it were some sort of personalization for them to pick and choose and not as a piece of the ship's loadout to be put together by the captain. More often than not when I get randoms either they are insistent on bringing what they want and argue when requests are made otherwise, or simply loadout the way they want and sit silently ignoring any advice given.

That being said I am also against this scrambling idea, it just seems like an attempt to try something different while avoiding the idea of including a higher level of game lobbies, IE Beginner<Casual<Competitive lobbies. It's a neat idea, that I haven't personally seen done before, and you can tell Muse's heart is in the right place. But I think it will just lead to the "stacked" teams leaving for new lobbies instead though.

um, so we Rhinos are interested in the tournament, but I didn't keep track of our scrimmage record (like most other clans didn't judging the standings). Is it still possible to add points to the table?
Just summing up the points we've gained during urz tournaments would catapult us to rank 2 of the list, even without taking the underdog modifier into account.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure the season ended on the 11th, thus points can no longer be submitted. I can empathize since I had also been slacking and not submitting points from scrims and the rumble.

Is there any reason in particular not to include more or all factions? I know us Knights and GwTh, also OVW I believe, all operate within the Fjord Baronies is why I ask.

I wasn't suggesting that at all, I was only suggesting reformatting your information to generalize for your entire clan, not splitting it up unnecessarily. Take BFS/Haven's scrimmage info as an example. No reason to get over excited over my suggestion, as it's just to avoid confusion on the scrimmage team list.

The Gents (team name, not to be confused with the Gentlemen clan name)
Contact person: Byron Cavendish, Feast on Thrones
Alternative contact information: steam, skype (same names)
Scrimmage days: Every Saturday 3pm est

The Mad Hatters
Contact person: Zuka'esrai, mattisamo
Alternative contact information: steam, skype (Zuka'esrai, stenqvist)
Scrimmage days: Every Saturday 3pm est

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think teams are scored separately, it's just clan scoring so unless The Mad Hatters are planned to be a splinter Clan that's separate from the Gentlemen I don't think it's necessary to list them as information for the Gentlemen should be enough right? Maybe just include the names for the contact persons on the other team under the Gents info with a notifier that it's for your secondary team?

(to save me from double posting)
Also please update the AK information to include that our new Scrimmage times are between 12-5pmEST on Saturday, and 11am-2pmEST on Sunday. Thanks in advance.

Feedback and Suggestions / Canyon Ambush
« on: November 13, 2013, 10:23:10 pm »
I don't know how everyone else feels, but me personally I think there is just too much cloud cover, I half expected a Tommy Chong easter egg to be hidden somewhere. If I'm alone in this opinion I'll gladly grit teeth and bear it but in my opinion what we need is maybe some more terrain interference, IE more stone pillars or more wreckage/debris, not more clouds. All the clouds are accomplishing at this point is making Ambush much slower and more tedious to navigate. Even the slightest lag will have you flying through a cloud and into the terrain.

That being said it is still one of my favorite maps, which is the only reason I'm taking the time to suggest downing the fog a bit.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Remove Stacking Achievements
« on: November 12, 2013, 09:01:08 am »
Yea unfortunately because of the way levels are attained you do occasionally run into players cheesing and boosting to get certain achievements. The best thing you can do at that point is leave that certain game since it is currently not against the rules to do such. It really is rather silly in my opinion that people put so much importance on levels when pretty much the whole of the community agrees that player level is no indication of skill simply because in theory you can just get a bunch of plebs in a private lobby and grind achievements to 15 without developing any skills towards gameplay whatsoever. Maybe one day we'll see a new leveling system instead based on matches played/won where players of higher levels are undeniably much higher in experience and skill.
