The Docks / Re: The Gentlemen Are Recruiting!
« on: August 11, 2013, 02:27:21 pm »
Well I must say I was taking a wonder around these golly good forums and nearly dropped my tea when I saw a clan fit for the classy members of GoIO.

I may be fairly new to this game but do like to have a jolly good time with some comrades of mine and feel I would fit well in this clan, so in my most polite manner I give your a request for membership onto your crew.

If you need to contact me about anything, drop me a message on Steam, same name was my forum name.

Good day

We have to remember that this might be set in a post apocalyptic world it it either the same year or in the very near future and has the same tech as the early to mid 1900s so the humans that are currently alive wouldn't know what a Air force or a Navy is, let along the difference.

I never get it on my own ship due to the fact I play with people I know. But when everyone on the other ship leaves it makes any game mode really hard to play

So a punishment for leaving really early in a game should be put in place

Ok so I guess this is sort of therycrafting but, my friend and I have recently start to wonder if the ships we are flying would be considered a Navy or an Air force

One would think Air force because we're flying in the air (durr) but I can't help but think the battles we fight are move like naval combat more that air dogfights

What do you think guys?

Although I feel that the feedback rating on a player may be the best way to go to see if your team mate is likely to leave but even if you get someone like that with low rep there is currently nothing in place to avoid having that person on your team other than changing matches.

use the Form Crew function that way you have much more say over who you crew with.

For myself I do, but it's the crew on the other ship on my team that normally leaves, a 2 on 1 isn't much fun

Its full of people who are a bit full of themselves and think they know how to play. 9 time out of 10 when I tell someone to do something its because I want to help them

But you do get some people who are arseholes

Love the idea of this as it goes along with the lore of the game.

I can just see the defending team to get very angry with the AI if they just fly around right at the enemy

So I feel that the only way that system would work would be if Muse added a crew vote kick system

But that said, Muse has already said they don't want to add that system in because it can be easily abused.

The only way that anything can work is with a bit of balance for punishing leavers and rewarding good players. If this were TF2 you could just give the good players a hat and the whole world would play properly

I'm afraid you'll find that with any game no a days.

I was lucky enough to but the games with lots of friend so I didn't have this problem, but I have had to yell at a few new people for not doing the job of the class they picked.

My only advice is to make sure you do your best. But the way my friends yell at me for not fixing things when I'm busy and the way I get yelled at in other games tells me it will always happen.

It sort of adds to the feel of the fast paced nature of a airship

All my experiences with these map types are that the first team to capture it ends up winning

Oh god, the guy who flies for me isn't the best and I don't think I could keep up with all the hull repairs from his crashing if it was night and the middle of a storm.

And just thinking about the map in the middle of the city and the canyon makes me regret being an engineer
