Gameplay / Re: Pilot tools
« on: July 22, 2013, 11:06:38 am »
Mostly I use a Squid, with a cannonade on the front and flamers on the side and back. My tools are:

Phoenix Claw -  So you can stay on the blind spot of your foes and also its useful to avoid flanking and Ramming.

Hydrogen and Chute Vent - Vertical movement is useful to avoid snipers when you are on long range, you can go up and down and most of the shots will miss you. Also its useful to disengage during close quarters.

FTL + GOI + Minecraft + Eve would be the best game. Build your own ships, crew them with friends, and live in the EVE universe type thing, with all the politics.

Anyways may have to play this a lot.

If this game ever gets made, nobody will ever see me again IRL.
This game would supplant real life, and the world as we know it would end.

I though that it was way  more obscure, good to see that it is not.
Anyways, Yay for Theater References.

My crew was not happy with the name "Bieber Fever", so my squid new name is "Sells of a Deathman".
Yay for obscure theater references.

The Lounge / Re: Endless SPACE (Space.. space.. ˢᵖᵃᶜᵉ..)

Its a good game, sometimes it feels like cross between Alpha Centauri (random events, bizarre techs, simple tech tree) and Sins of a Solar Empire. (space battles and ship classes).

Its a classical space opera, so you can expect the usual factions, the Evil Empire, the Pacifist Aliens, The proud warrior alien race, The Rebels and so on, you can also make your own faction. The Battle system is interesting, but sometimes you can ignore tactics and Tech and just mass produce ships and win all the battle against the computer using superior numbers.

Overall its a fun game to play against the computer, but  the multiplayer is way better.

It's still less than sufficient. Weapons smoke when damaged. Armor shatters after being destroyed, but we don't know how close it is until it finally goes boom. We don't have any clear readout as to the precise performance of our own ship's weapons.
And thats the beauty of it, there are no numbers on the screen, no health bars, no HUD. Precise numbers would ruin the mood/immersion.

Or if I'm feeling serious Bridge Of Sighs
Why, Is your ship the last thing a prisoner sees? Or is it made of majestic white limestone?

Pyramidion: SS Dakka Dakka Dakka
When you fly with 3 gatling gunks (and a flakk) you have lots of fire power, or simple lots of Dakka, as ork would say. Thus the name. Also I like to scream "more dakka!" when near a enemy ship. Some savvy crew members yell "Waaah"  during combat, its a very orkish ship.

Squid: Bieber Fever
Like Bieber this ship is annoying and can drive you mad, unlike Bieber it has flamethrowers.

Heya Folks.

Lets keep it simple.
I've been playing GoI for 2 or 3 months, usually I fly a Pyramidion named "Dakka dakka dakka", my hobbies are Ramming and giving orders with a thick Brazilian accent.
