Gameplay / Non-meta builds that are fun and(or) effective
« on: March 11, 2014, 12:41:56 pm »
Im always curios to find ship builds that are out of the ordinary, but work.  I know there might not be to much hidden out there that hasnt been uncovered, but thought I'd open this up to anyone who may want to share some their favorites.

For example, I've been having a blast flying my double carronade Pyra with gat/mortar sides.
Charge with lesmok and drop their balloons.  While they scramble from that we continue on past and hit with gat/mortar, or keep up with the carronades and sit on um.  Its a great "CHARRRRRRRGGGGGEEEE" build.

EDIT: baddd grammer

Gameplay / Trifecta fire

So what are your opinions on different junker trifecta load outs?  I personally run with gat and flak on the sides and an artemis on the front.  Would love to here some other ideas though!

Community Events / Just a thought

I havent gotten a chance to play in a tourney or scheduled match yet, and mostly because of my schedule.  Has anyone given though to starting up a tourney that has more give on match times?  Maybe two teams are set to play, they decide the time, and so on and so fourth.

It would take more time to complete the tourney, but it would help the bigger groups have their best competing, and it would help smaller groups set times to compete that would work for them.

Just a thought, looking forward to seeing how the competitive side of GOI evolves as we continue to grow (and maybe i'll get into a match one of these days lol)

Q&A / How to tell when to go for the kill
« on: June 04, 2013, 12:50:26 am »
Alright, so I know that piercing weapons take out armor, and explosive are used to seal the deal after that, but when is the armor down?  I know that there's a hint for when the armor is down, but I havent been able to pick up on it.  Does the armor disfigure in someway similar to when the hull itself takes damage?

Help would be appreciated, and if any of you skilled fliers want to try and screen shot a ships armor as it goes down you should put it up here so that other semi-newbies and myself can pick up on it.

Thank you!
