I'm speaking with Overwatch about entering but if we sign up it'll be right before the cut off time.

I'm sorta interested in casting. I understand the game enough to speak about it I think. But, whether I do that in an interesting way on a commentary stream? I have no idea.

Actually if you dont plan on lesmok artemis the difference between artemis and hwacha isnt to big ...
134m ...
Thats all the difference.

Travel time. Hawacha shots are very slow allowing the enemy to dodge some/all of a volly at range.

Gameplay / Re: 1.3.6 Tar Changes
« on: May 02, 2014, 04:21:21 pm »
Ah, the visual changes confuse me a bit. I don't know when the tar cloud has been sprung till a little after. But the base issues I mentioned still stand.

Tar, in my opinion, was only useable by two ships before the patch. Junker and Squid. They had the manouverablity required to keep tar on an enemy (using pilot tools the full 3 seconds in between each cloud). That in the first place limits the use of it. Expecting anyone to use it now while you can't do that effectively doesn't make sense to me (you can't tar enemies and keep them tarred effectively and also can't run away effectively, it's two major uses).

If you watched competitive events of me using tar it took a lot of risk and work to tar an enemy effectively and even them the risk wasn't always worth it. You have to be extremely close to an enemy. With a squid that's almost a death wish unless a friendly ship is distracting them. With a junker you loose all weapon arcs. Both big downsides.

I hope I worded things correctly. I'm not the best speaker but I feel strongely about this... The person who uses squid competitively.

The tar cloud seems to take longer to activate than normal. It looks like the cloud expands after it deploys. Most of ships I have tried to tar have been able to move through the cloud while it is still expanding.
I've noticed this a bit too. This also is a big hit to the tar as well... Like it needed more of a hit e.e;

Since it now damages engines more then my normal tools, and stops me from using my piloting tools in between each cloud, I find it useless. It doesn't allow you to escape a situation with it effectively, it doesn't allow you to keep a tar cloud on a moving target (can't use tools, heavy damage to engines), it's small damage increase means nothing if you can't effectively tar the enemy in the first place and keep them tarred.

Never liked the dev app flame thrower. Never updated my stance on it because it never changed from op.

I always go for disabling in any build I choose. If we can disable them then we can kill them. For longer ranges you may need long range disabling. Hwacha with heavy clip might do it but it's not extremely long range. Artemis and Merc is a nice friend ship to support. Artemis, Hades(leamok rounds) might work as well.

I disagree that it is 'nothing' and also disagree that anyone has claimed to be victims. I do not understand your reasoning for thinking such things but it does mean that we will most likely not find any sort of agreement. I stand by my statement that I dislike that a late sign up gets a match against an unpracticed team but understand why the choice was made and shall continue on with the Sky League.

Every group had a troublesome time I think. But I can only say for sure that I did. And Muse team getting to fight a team that wasn't used to practicing together without even signing up seems unfair. That was my thought process. It's supposed to be a challenge to be in Sky League. Not easy if you sign up late...

All opinions are of my own unless listed otherwise. :3 The group I was in was a huge challenge and that's what I like about competitive. That's what it should be.

Edit: The more fights the more challenging it gets. Every additional fight is more risk. The less fights your in or easier the match? Less risk.

I agree with Thomas fully. As some of you saw Overwatch had a tough time getting past the first week. But a team that didn't sign up gets to fight newer players... Next time more rules need to be in place for this situation.

Mothers Against Gaming and Clockwork Cavalry, consisting of new players who had a misunderstanding about what constitutes a full team, showed up with seven players between the two of them ready to play. Muse, who had missed the signup deadline while traveling for GDC, showed up with eight players ready to play. So the choices were to either disqualify the two new teams and not allow Muse late entry, denying the 23 players who had set aside their Saturday afternoon any matches, or work it out in a way that everyone gets to play (which will also have a negligible effect on future rounds due to the composition of the group). I'm confident in my decision.

Sorry to hear you'll no longer be participating, PuppyFur.

Taking into consideration what you said I'll see about continuing with Sky League though I don't fully agree with it.

Things got a bit odd with Group D as expected, but I do have mixed feelings about letting a team, who didn't sign up, join after the tournament had already started.

I'm no longer participating due to that reason and others. The normal regulations should have been followed even if it meant no second seed (which is what would have happened if things were done right if I'm told correctly).

Dev App Testing / Re: Goals and Ramifications of Matchmaking

Possibly having two different areas. One for opinions. One for bugs. As not to mix them. That way we can still post our opinions without interrupting testing results (bugs and such).

Dev App Testing / Re: Goals and Ramifications of Matchmaking

It's hard to put in words all the reasons I love lobby/server systems in games. I feel the same about my hate for matchmaking.

I do worry how much work is being put in to this. If the community dislikes the final product, that production time is a bit of a waste (which is ok since your trying to go for something to improve the game), but will that just go past dev app no matter what our opinions are? I've seen many other companies change/add things players don't want and ruin the game for many people even though the testers have stated the update shouldn't happen.

I worry a lot. But, that's good. Cuz I love the game :3

I like the simple rules and prizes. I feel the sub lock is needed. The prizes are worth getting. Good good.
